And you live in a very ignorant world, as well as a very sick and disturbing one where it's okay to bomb civilian refugee facilities, which is a war crime. UNWRA is a UN humanitarian agency to aid Palestinians.

Using civilian refugee facilities to launch attacks is the war crime.

Most Gaza residents caught in the middle of Israel/Gaza conflict realize that it is Hamas, not Israel, who is the cause of the bloodshed and so many Palestinian deaths...

"Onlookers initially blamed Israel for an aerial assault July 28 that left about 20 dead near al-Shifa Hospital and at the al-Shati refugee camp—including children playing nearby—but likely it came from stray missiles fired by Hamas further south. A Finnish journalist later reported on television seeing a rocket fired from hospital grounds.

Hamas also turned al-Wafa Hospital in Gaza City into a command center, making it a base for launching missile strikes and sniper fire aimed at Israeli Defense Forces. “In Hamas’ globe, hospitals are order facilities, ambulances are transportation vehicles, and medics are human shields,” read a statement from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Recordings verified IDF made phone calls to hospital administrators asking whether civilians and all patients had been evacuated and were assured they had before striking the hospital on July 23. The force of the explosion, plus secondary explosions, confirmed Hamas had concealed rockets there.

Such attacks nonetheless fed international outrage and sent the UN Security Council into emergency session, even as Gaza residents blamed Hamas, said everyone understood Palestinian blood had been shed by Hamas itself. “Nobody can forgive Hamas for what they’re doing,” said a 28-year-old journalist who asked not to be identified for security reasons. “No one can forgive Hamas for butchering Palestinians to get power. Most Gazans hate Hamas with a passion.”

Yet the West is so easily duped and falling right into the desired goal which Hamas is attempting to achieve...world hatred against Israel.

Despite the threats, Israel has had trouble shaking its pariah status in the West. The United States, including President Barack Obama himself, condemned specific attacks by Israel, while at the same time trying to broker a new cease-fire. But the United States too could be blamed for extending the conflict with strategic stumbles: Initially Secretary of State John Kerry and others insisted Qatar serve as an intermediary with Israel and Hamas, even as distrust for Qatar grows in the region. U.S. officials also signed an $11 billion weapons deal with Qatar right in the middle of Israel-Hamas fighting last month—even as the Gulf emirate moves closer to Muslim Brotherhood–linked militants. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi in July said, “We have to confer with the Qataris, who have told me over and over again that Hamas is a humanitarian organization.”
In Europe, sympathy for Hamas morphed into outright hatred for Israel and Jews. July protests in Paris suburbs turned violent, trapping Jewish business owners who had to fight their way to safety through riot police. In Wuppertal, Germany, after a bomb attack at a synagogue July 29, Jewish leaders said they had received death threats and warnings not to wear yarmulkes in public. Protesters in Berlin chanted, “Gas the Jews.”
“We are experiencing in this country an explosion of evil and violent anti-Semitism which leaves us all shocked and dismayed,” said Dieter Graumann, president of Germany’s Central Council of Jews. “That anti-Semitic views of the nastiest and most primitive type can be chanted on German streets we never thought possible again in this lifetime.”

And yet, it seems to me highly likely that Chomsky is correct in asserting that the Israeli government seeks only a return to the norm, rather than a real solution to the Conflict.

Do you recall who it was who in 1973 or so warned against the occupation just as it started? I keep thinking it was Ben-Gurion, but that doesn't sound right -- he died in '73. My memory grows old and misleading.

Hi Phil, sorry, I missed this post. I am not sure Chomsky is right about Israel not wanting a real peace. Of course it depends on the leadership, which is now hawkish, but this situation has become rather bad for the entire Middle East.

Also, I could not find any references to an Israeli leader that warned against occupation, even though I searched. If you remember, please let us know, I would like to read about it.

Speaking of "Palestinians under attack" (OP), check this out from the A.P., although it hasn't been verified as of yet:

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel's Shin Bet security service says it has thwarted a Hamas coup attempt in the West Bank, though it provided few details.

The service says that it arrested more than 90 Hamas operatives in an alleged plot to carry out attacks against Jews and wrest control from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Hamas officials had no immediate comment to the claim.

Hamas overtook the Gaza Strip in 2007 from forces loyal to Abbas. It is currently negotiating to Cairo over a cease-fire to formally end the Gaza war.

Due to the war crimes of Israel in Gaza, Britain ruled for the suspension of 12 arms export licenses to the Israeli occupation after having found out about their potential usage in carrying out attacks throughout the Gaza offensive

Britain suspends 12 army export licenses used by Israel in Gaza offensive

Britian has a history of hating jews.

After the holocaust, holocaust survivors with no where to go headed to Israel.

Britain blockaded them, and some of the rickety ships were on sank.

They also put jews in internment camps.

They have a very sordid history when it comes to jews.

1- It is written in your noble book, "En eye for an eye". Don't you agree?

2- As I said many times before, it is a relative concept.

According to American hegemony and its allies; FSA, IF and other cannibals which gave birth to the illegitimate ISIS; also MKO, Jaish al-Adl which have operated in Iran, etc. are not terrorists, they are "freedom" fighters to be supported, funded, trained and armed. But, to us, they are terrorists to be stopped.

Likewise, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, etc. are freedom fighters to Lebanese and Palestinian nations and to Muslims worldwide, whereas according to zionists and their allies, these resistance movements are terrorists.

FWIW, "an eye for an eye" in Judaism has never been understood literally. Rather, it means that some form of monetary compensation must be given that is seen as equitable.

Iam still proposing to change the name of our DIR to an explanation about the verse.

Its horrible to read it again and again.

I pray that Hamas retaliates the Zionist regime soon.

I think that it's truly pathetic that you not only support a terrorist organization like Hamas, but that you support an terrorist organization that even targets its own people. When they sent missiles at Jerusalem, for just one example, let me remind you of the fact that Jerusalem has a great many Palestinians that live there and also visit there. The fact that Hamas was willing to attack their own people is no surprise to me, but apparently you're either totally unaware of that or that you also really don't care about your fellow Muslims.
