Double standards.

No. What-about-ism.

We are talking about Ukraine-Russia. Not about Saudi arabia.
Also, for it to be a double standard, you would have to know my position about it, which you don't, because you didn't ask.
You are welcome to do so when it is the topic.
It is unrelated here.

Islamic countries can be tyrannical.
"can be?" I don't think I know of one that isn't.

Christian countries cannot.
Theocracies are always tyrannical. Regardless of the religion being imposed.
You might be confusing it with secular democracy and pretending them to be "christian countries".

You also need to understand that I come from a different country.

In my country the Russophiles are in almost every political party.
Italian Communist Party, Populist parties, leftist parties, rightist parties.
Does it also make you less impartial to evidence? Like how many who oppose him (even those who were his supporters once, like the mercenary guy) and especially politically, tend to end up dead. This is basic thuggery, and rather amusing if it wasn't so serious - as to using his exotic silly poisons rather than just bumping them off in more natural accidents. Because he is a thug in reality, who relishes in acting like a supposedly clever bully.

Of course.
Living in a country where Russia has always been associated with positive or neutral vibes.

Honestly I think that the fact that he's a white Christian heterosexual makes him the enemy of the Left, taken over by misandry.

The enemy of the left: the white Christian heterosexual male.

You need to get out more and not be so biased towards Russian leaders, especially Putin.

Nah. He is disliked because he is just another bullying dictator, who had the chance to get Russia into the democratic and liberal world but because of his nature and upbringing he decided to take his revenge on the West - simply because they won the Cold War (which it was destined to do) and hence why he opposes things like LGBTQ, tends to want old-fashioned religious beliefs on his side, and interferes wherever he can to mess up the actual progress made by the more liberal nations. And he will make friends with all who are onside in some way - even if he really detests them.

What about Orban?
I see he is considered a dictator too.
Tell me your stance.

No idea, apart from the fact that he comes across as just another right-wing, anti-EU, possibly more religious, and perhaps corrupt individual, who might be more inclined to be friends with Putin for whatever reasons. People tend to have short memories - as to how the USSR treated his country in the past.

The most powerful right-wing populist in the EU is Meloni. Or better called "far-right-wing", according to the US standards.

No mention of her in the dem milieus. Just Orban: Tim Walz calls Viktor Orbán a dictator. For JD Vance, he’s a role model.

Why? Because Meloni is not a male politician.

There are real serious sexual-psychiatric issues involved in the phenomenon called anti-Trumpism.

Do you have a point?
Or is this just another of your random meaningless comments that serve only as distractions from the topic?

I think it is normal that Italians, after learning of that (Dante is sacred) think that Belgians might have some bias... or are we too prejudiced? ;)

You're the only one here who seems so obsessed with sexual orientation and alike.
I couldn't care less about people's sexuality.

I still have no clue what your point is, and even less how it relates to the points that were under discussion.

You seem all over the place again.
Do you suffer from tik-tok brain or something?

We were talking about Christian countries and Islamic countries.

NL and Belgium censored a passage of the Divine Comedy.

We have never censored anything that could be deemed as offensive towards Jesus. If you don't like a book, don't buy it...this is our rules.

We weren't actually. We were talking about Russia - Ukraine. The whole "christian / islam countries" bit was yet another distraction / off topic thing you brought up.

NL and Belgium censored a passage of the Divine Comedy.

So much wrong here....
First of all, NL and Belgium are not "christian countries". They are secular democracies with a predominantly judeo-christian culture, which is not the same thing.
Secondly, the NL and Belgium didn't censor anything. The publisher did.
Nobody asked them to do that. That was their own free choice.

Did you even read the article your yourself posted?

We have never censored anything that could be deemed as offensive towards Jesus. If you don't like a book, don't buy it...this is our rules.
This has nothing to do with "we" or any rules whatsoever.
It was the publisher decided to do this. If you don't like it, complain to them.

Now, can you get back on topic, or is there some other irrelevant point you wish to get into?

I'm not focusing on him at all. YOU brought him up.

I don't even know why you brought him up.

Your tik-tok brain is popping up again it seems.
It's on topic.
Because it's thanks to people like him that there will be peace in Europe.
He will be acclaimed as hero of the European Peace, in my country.

He went to talk to Putin and then to Trump. That's what peaceful politician do.
