Phony advertising from churches Huffington Post

Why do you care so much? You cannot change another soul on the face of the earth save yourself. That is a simple fact. You are only responsible for yourself. So if this church gets you steamed, which it obviously does, or at least Huffington Post, go somewhere else and stop complaining. You will not change them. And so freaking what? Its their loss for pete's sake.
I'm not complaining about didley. Its called a debate. This is religious debate. I'm debating. Telling me to stop complaining and go somewhere else doesn't tsake away the problem, its a problem for the church, and it seems to me ou want to make this all go away by telling me to go away. But sense theres a bunch of people saying it its not going away.

Its just a copout to say go away and stop complaining. Its a debate room, and I'm debating, you just are miffed because Ive pointed out to the conservative Christians here that theres a huge group of people saying that the church is doing something wrong handling things wrong.
Instead of just debating like you should because this is actually a debate room, you and every other conservative Christian ( I know your not Christian but your defending ) is just doing nothing but sitting here childishly screaming at me like babies.

Your screaming at me to go away and stop being stupid, your the babies. you don't want to deal with a debate and instead debating you scream at me and have a fit. It doesn't matter if I stop talking about it here or not, Christians are going to deal with this and the numbers keep going down for church attendance, it wont disappear until you deal with it.
FYI for the poster who said I should expect Christian churches to be conservative and most all are theres only a few liberal churches:

Heres the link to Texas GLBT affirming churches and actually I know quite a few who arent on this list.

Grow up and deal with your problems if you don't church membership is going down, the church will have to grow up or lose in the end,

I'm not winning or complaining about didly,Im shockingly happy, because I never go there. I'm really only doing this for your own good actually. But hey, if you want to say I'm inmature and stupid and idiotic and my thread too frankly, I'm happy because the more you ignore it the more your church loses members.

LMAO its hillarius your saying I'm complaining and whining, I'm thrilled out of my mind, hey the more you lose the more people will go to my church go ahead ignore me. Your only hurting your church your not hurting me.

Who is "you" in this sentence?
Jo and I are neither straight, Christian, or even particularly theist. I'm more socially conservative than she is, but neither of us are anything resembling conservative Christian Church Goers.
We just understand the culture with nuanced understanding of people as they actually are, not the way they should be. I see that as basic cultural literacy. I see you as a victim of the culture of victimhood, blaming others for the predictable results of your own choices.

Ok then. As some who witnessed this exchange, I have to tell you that although you are technically correct I think you are being unfair. Yes, you are correct, he did defend those who spoke out against the LGTB community. But anytime we speak up in support of free speech we run the risk of defending some horrible ideas. I am not saying you owe him an apology, but I am saying that perhaps you should look at his comment not in terms of defending someone speaking out against LGTB, but in terms of someone defending the basic concept of free speech.

That is how I saw his comment.
Your champion of free speech has told people not to speak out against anti-LGBT religions five separate times in this thread so far.

Are you talking to me?? What are you talking about? a victim of what?
Yes, that is why I quoted your post.
Your unwillingness to take responsibility for the predictable outcome of your own choices makes you a classic victim of victimhood.
I'm a big mouthy gay atheist. I occasionally attend church with conservative Christians. I don't have any particular problems with them. This is mainly because I treat them with the respect due to people in their own place, which is what a church is. I see that as basic civilized behavior. You don't tell people what to do or think when you are their guest.

I have no idea why your pointing at me ,but I'm laughing and feeling fantastic.
Because you started this thread about being traumatized by conservative Christians response to your choice to attend their church, arm in arm with your lesbian lover.

Wow. Seriously? I don't want anyone to go anywhere. I am gay myself and could not care one iota about what some church says about who I am. If you want to rant on about the position of churches and how they stand on the issue of gays, go ahead. You do realize you will not change one thing. And furthermore, I am NOT screaming. If you will note, at the bottom of every post I make, it states that I am legally blind. The font size is for my own sake. That said, it seems you simply want to yell at people instead of having a debate about anything. I could not care less what Huffington Post says nor what some church holds as dogma. So carry on but do so without me and I suspect, as a rather long term member here, many will tire of your yelling very quickly.

Thanks Tom. I just think she is projecting and I've no idea why. I am more than comfortable with being gay and could not care two cents about what some church has to say. I respect them and their views as you do and furthermore, understand it is a part of our culture at the moment. I see no real benefit to continuing to try to debate with someone who merely wants to rant about some perceived insult.
