In terms of the American porn industry, we can only assume that those participating are consenting adults and that there's no exploitation involved.
FH and I don't watch or read it, so it's not anything that weights heavily on our conscience.

If those featured in pornographic material are not consenting and/or not adults, then it goes without saying that it's an intolerable injustice.
We're talking about porn that involves consenting adults, specifically the adult industry in the U.S. and other developed western nations.

A lot of men are like this and on the flipside, there are a lot of women who don't respect themselves enough to want decency in men and out of relationships.
There are good men and women who value their partner for more than physicality. Trust and communication is an important foundation for these types of relationships.

It is none of them, it is the truth. In movies,porn,magazines,tv, pretty much everywhere there is a proclaiming of women that is they are just for sex. All for men, it is the truth. I bet you would agree with this statment if a MOD said it.

Amen sister! The fact is we don't know if every act in a porn scene is consensual. We do know that women have been rape in porn because they have said so! And their rape is out there for everyone with an internet connection to jerk off to.

It's a non issue to me. Not only do I find porn to be useless, but, I can't, in good faith, as a mother, in particular, watch something, not knowing if the girls involved are of age and willing.
But, I do think, as with any industry, there's the good and the bad. The problem, is that the viewer can't know for certain what they're watching and that's a big issue for me.
But, I'm not going to say that there aren't women who have chosen their profession. There are women who choose to strip, dance, escort and prostitute. What's the difference? If a woman can make a confident decision to partake in one of these professions, why can't they choose to participate in porn?
There are standards within the porn industry that participants are drug tested and of legal. How strictly this is enforced, I have no freaking clue and it's not my area of interest to focus too heavily on this. I would never consider any of the aforementioned professions, save having an appreciation for the skill that's involved in pole dancing.
Should porn be banned? No. Should it be regulated so that people aren't forced into that which they don't want to do and aren't well enough to do or of legal age to do? Yes.
