Predestination?

In my early days of being a narrow-minded Biblist I surmised that the paths were predetermined but man had a choice. After years of Don Quixote like attempts at trying to splain otherwise, I have come to see that some people just ain't gunna understand faith. It's like they're unequiped to process it.

What say you?

Faith isn't easy. It especially isn't easy when there is a gun pointing at your head. People have died for their faiths. Your first statement explains your last statement. It's circular reasoning.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen, according to Hebrews. I have faith that all things are available to me.

I used to know someone who couldn't say mayonaisse properly. It came out, "mayernaise." Reminds me of the shibboleth story in the OT. Some people just can't. Like it's predestined.

Have you considered the possibility that at least some actually understand it perfectly well but you’re unequipped to process their understanding? Claiming to have an definitive answer and dismissing any question or challenge with the idea that the asked is simply incapable of understanding is the height of arrogance.

Faith is real easy. Its the gun at your head that causes the unease. Its the unease that is the real problem not the gun.

Faith to me means far more than just faith in God for example faith in self.
