President Chickenhawk's Viet Nam Draft Deferments.

My mistake I thought you were in the U.S.
Unfortunately it appears your lack of knowledge about why the draft was vital to meet the manpower requirements to defend against the aggression of Germany and Japan when the U.S entered the war.
I am fully aware that conscription serves an important military purpose. That was, after all, the reason why Germany was initially forbidden a conscript army after WW1. And it should tell you something when one of the earliest military policies the Nazis introduced, right after making everyone swear an oath to protect Hitler, was conscription for all male citizens.

And just in case you think I am speaking from ignorance, I served eight months as a conscript in my country's military, and spent these months patrolling its borders against illegal migration, among other activities.

Any country worth defending can persuade people to enlist without enslaving them.

The draft is vital, but only to avoid the high pay required
to recruit the necessary labor. If ever there is a good
reason for high income taxes, it's to pay people what
it's worth to risk life, limb, & sanity in war.

Unlike Trump's bone spurs it appears that Biden's asthma never went away. By the way, I too would have been rejected from service for that reason. Though mine appears a bit stronger, cats dogs, all sorts of pollen, horses, and worst of all beer:(

Trump was made fun of because his deferment was rather obviously bought by Daddy.

Or he never had it to the extent that it interfered with being a
lifeguard or very good football player in high school & college.

I see hypocrisy....
- Male Presidents are expected to have been in the military.
- Female candidates aren't expected to have served at all.
- Men with the misfortune of low draft lottery numbers are
supposed to serve. Those with high numbers aren't.
- Homosexuals, clergy, & trans men are exempt from
obligation to serve.
- Democrats, eg, Bill Clinton, are given a pass on service.
Trump was made fun of because his deferment was rather obviously bought by Daddy.
Evidence?

Cadet Wheezy is as cromulent a name as Cadet Bone Spurs.
Perhaps even more so, because....
