I am fully aware that conscription serves an important military purpose. That was, after all, the reason why Germany was initially forbidden a conscript army after WW1. And it should tell you something when one of the earliest military policies the Nazis introduced, right after making everyone swear an oath to protect Hitler, was conscription for all male citizens. My mistake I thought you were in the U.S.
Unfortunately it appears your lack of knowledge about why the draft was vital to meet the manpower requirements to defend against the aggression of Germany and Japan when the U.S entered the war.
And just in case you think I am speaking from ignorance, I served eight months as a conscript in my country's military, and spent these months patrolling its borders against illegal migration, among other activities.
