Pressure On Biden To Pardon Trump

Trump and his worshippers would NOT care.

As for the OP article, I can see in the topic line "would go a long way towards ending the cycle of lawfare that,...." LMFAO one must reform and beg forgiveness BEFORE it can be given.
Trump only opposes 'lawfare' because he is on the receiving end of numerous criminal cases. He has no qualms about using the law against his political opponents. Hell, the Supreme Court gave him immunity to kill political opponents if it can be claimed to be an official act. He lies boldly without evidence of things so he merely has to proclaim that he has classified evidence (which cannot be divulged because it would threaten national security) that a political opponent is a spy for another nation, then have them executed.

We certainly need more frubal choices here. I gave you a thumbs up  because I agree with you (not because I'm saying "Yay!"), yet I'm irate about it , and perplexed/embarrassed by the naivete and wanton stupidity of the American Voting Public.

As always, Presidents remain above the law.
No need to pardon him -- the Justice Department is already shutting down all the cases against him. Law and order, that's the ticket!

In a world of lies, maybe we should be looking for the truth. It'll be in very short supply for the next 4 years.

I wonder if Biden can take a lesson from this, and try to steal the election before January 6? After all, he's immune.

Nah.
I'd keep it going if I were a loser who had my butt handed to me as well.
It's good look after all, so why not ?
Going after your political opponents who you know are going to take you to the cleaners on election day using the law as a hammer just as Putin & other communist Banana republics do with rivals is really a very popular technique with the people.
And such a well proven, very effective method of shutting down & squelching any effort by your rival to compete & run against you .
And besides even if by chance the populace universally recognized your lawfare for the naked political motivated attack that it was, & rejected it at the polls, and your opponent electorally waxed your rear end & handed it to you , why not keep the lawfare going anyway just out of revenge ?

"The step complies with long-standing Justice Department policy that a sitting president can't be prosecuted, two people familiar with the matter told NBC News."

Utterly mind boggling.

It would be nice if Trump could be held accountable for his crimes. But I think that now that he has a four year reprieve, he will be dead before having to face any consequences for his actions.

I vote no on a pardon.

Why? Trump will just pardon himself during his Day One Dictatorship.

That would be interesting, because as far as I know there is no fixed legal opinion on whether he could do that. On the face of it, it would be a self-evident nonsense and contrary to any principle of justice and even basic common sense. But in the crazy world that seems to be the result of our going through some kind of time warp*, who knows?

* Honestly, I sometimes wonder if I will one day wake up in a normal sensible world, and say "Hey honey, I just had the craziest dream! Donald Trump, you know that guy on the TV show, was President!"

Sigh.

He is old, fat, and has a bad diet. He will not release his medical records and is clearly showing signs of dementia/cognitive decline. The actuarial tables suggest that he will not make 80, though it is not impossible.

If he pardons Trump, he should pardon Hunter.
But I think neither one should be pardoned.

Edit: Wait ... who do you think tried to assassinate Trump?? Who is "you guys?"
I'm pretty sure that @Regiomontanus did not try to assassinate Trump.
