Problems with Belief when it comes to a Christian and Islamic God...

Robert.Evans

You will be assimilated; it is His Will.
If it is so obvious, why did he write it? If I wrote a holy book I would probably look silly if I wrote obvious things (like 2+2=4) in it.

How can something invisible be seen? I am afraid, Paul is contradicting himself here. On a related note, the gods the greeks believed in do not look at all like the god Paul is talking about here. Are they also without excuse? Aristoteles and Plato missing something so obvious?

And if it is so obvious, why do you guys send missionaries all over the world? Are people who did not have the honor to hear Paul fundamentally silly?

Do not believe in what? Apollo?

So, Paul was addressing people whose mind was not blinded? Or people whose mind is blinded?

Why did He do that? In both cases, it seems like a waste of time.

Go ahead then. I wait with bated breath for the answer.

You asked if time and pressure were created by luck or intellegence. The answer is neither, neither time nor pressure were created at all. Pressure is a measure of force, luck has nothing to do with it and intelligence is not required. When a mountain range is formed, it is a natural process that occurs when land is pushed up on top of the tectonic plates of the Earth as they shift. There is nothing lucky about it, and no intelligence is guiding it.

I do not disagree with your explanation. But what, I ask you, is "natural". It appears to be some magical force. You are saying it is not luck, yet you say that no intelliegence directs it in anyway. Yet it somehow appears, naturally. What is this natural? Where does it come from? What made it?

But there is a big picture going on isn't there? Are you suggesting we all just sit here and die because that is what ultimately happens?

I note you have not answered some of my questions. It is something you do a lot, if you don't mind me saying.

No. Grace is inward and God given. Belief is not something you decide yourself. It is fact. Gravity is fact whether you or I know of it or not. I don't have to prove it to you - nor can I - to make it fact. You may call it opinion if you want, but that is just YOUR opinion. Mine is fact. God given. Annoying for you no doubt, but I won't lie just to keep your worldly views in order.
Horse pucky. Belief is just that. Belief. And gravity is easily proven. Go jump off and roof and see if you fall or not. That is gravity. God is and never has been fact. If that were so, all peoples of the entire world would believe in God and since we know that is false, your premise fails miserably. I do believe in God but I am also the first one to admit I have NO proof or facts to back that. To say I do is a bold face lie. And I don't lie.

The only proof we need is within Creation itself. To think that the universe "popped" out of nowhere all by itself is really quite foolish and Satan's greatest lie. I still cannot believe he has been able to get so many to believe it.

Life did not come from non-life. The very thought that it did is quite absurd. Men did not come from "ape-like" beings. To think that we did is absurd and blasphemy at its very worst.

Good film.
Now care to answer the question? Or is this something that you live by faith with?

I went the humorous route because I've already answered you're question.

There are more than the two choices, luck and intelligence, to explain the existence of things. I happen to believe the universe is eternal...things have always been. Perhaps cyclical. But as I've said we can show examples of many things like mountains, islands and rivers that are caused by neither luck nor intelligence, and there is no reason to think the universe couldn't be the same.

I don't know what 'natural' is, I don't know why everything is here. You call it God and think you've answered something. The word "God" answers exactly nothing. It's a placeholder word for "I don't know."

Ok, they must have been missed in the discussion.

What would you like to ask? i promise to respond.

You might not lie, but you do misunderstand.
What is within is the proof. Faith is the substance of thinds hoped for, the evidence of things NOT SEEN; as it is written.
You do not make up your own mind to believe. That comes from God.

The mountain is a poor analogy as I am speaking of earlier things. I could show a computer for intelligent creation. So what?
You say the universe might be eternal. Care to explain how that is possible? Care to explain where this eternal universe comes from? Care to share with us your evidence for this?
I don't know what 'natural' is,
You me neither.

I think you will find that the placeholder for "I don't know" is you saying it is "natural" and then saying you don't know what the heck it is! Pot calling the kettle black perhaps. Watch you don't get burnt.

I am not having a go. No doubt this subject is somewhat boring to you or perhaps a joke. Anyway, I think I asked last - and if you can read between the lines - if there is no intelligence involved in creation (a God for example) then does that mean it is all ultimately luck? In other words, energy just doing stuff.

All I can say is that you are free to believe whatever gives you comfort. I find facts to be something I cannot deny and the facts are that we have evolved from primates, not apes, and there is more than enough evidence for me to agree with that. I do believe in God but I also believe that God is nothing like what the Bible portrays. Nor do I believe in the idea of 'satan' as that concept is borrowed from older myths, as is the man Jesus. God may have started the earth but that is something no one can prove. What can be proven is that we did evolve. Have you not seen Lucy, the fossilized remains of an early ancestor? But ultimately believe whatever gives you comfort in life. Namaste.

I do believe in God, just not in the way that you do. I cannot believe in Jesus as there is no reason to and the fact is, his entire story is from older myths. I do have faith in God but my path is eastern, as in Buddhist. I applaud that you have strong faith and have no issues in the ways that anyone follows what gives them comfort but I won't agree that we were made from mud or evolved from two people, etc. Its just not plausible.
