Does the number of authors really matter. There are some really good books about history, hygiene or philosophy written by just one person. More authors does not mean more quality or truthfulness.
The Wizard of Oz is the work of one author, from a span of a couple of years, or less.
Genealogy, folk wisdom, folk-remedies, history,
poetry, advice both good and bad, Lots of stuff like
that, such as any people would have.
- Genealogy: The relationship Dorothy and Auntie Em
- Folk wisdom: There is no living thing that is not afraid when it faces danger. The true courage is in facing danger when you are afraid, and that kind of courage you have in plenty.
- Folk-remedies: Oil is good for metal contraptions
- History: The life and travels of Oscar Diggs
- Poetry: “How can you talk if you haven’t got a brain?” “I don’t know… But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking… don’t they?”
- Advice both good and bad: Experience is the only thing that brings knowledge. Unlike with the bible, I can't find any bad advice.
Into the mix goes elements of historical novel,
and, magic realism.
To say the entirety is fantasy is a reasonable position.
Are the Biblical stories about Egypt true?
Ok..whatever.
