What's sorta funny is that Capernaum was very much a religious area [Peter's house and the nearby synagogue that's mentioned is there-- I saw both], but when I went over to Tiberius, the polar opposite is true, namely quite hedonistic, to say the least. Of course, I covered my eyes-- almost.

I was thinking of Sepphoris, but there was building all around in those days, too.

Yes, as that was the closest and the most likely place they likely did some work.

BTW, that project undoubtedly created many jobs but it also had a devastating effect on the local economies in the area because of inflation, and this comes into play because of the poverty it created for some, which also had the effect of fueling the fire for the Zealots that led to a harsh Roman reaction. The massacre at Masada was a by-product of this, and that story is fascinating but depressing as you're probably aware of.

BTW, I went up to the top there when it was 118 F, and let me tell ya it was brutal! However, at least I had just enough sense so as not to even try to walk up there.
