Jesus gave us a rose on Valentines day and nobody even noticed or said thank you !!!!

Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237) NASA Photo of the Day for Feburary 14, 2007

Explanation: Would the Rosette Nebula by any other name look as sweet? The bland New General Catalog designation of NGC 2237 doesn't appear to diminish the appearance of the this flowery emission nebula. Inside the nebula lies an open cluster of bright young stars designated NGC 2244. These stars formed from the nebular material and their stellar winds are clearing a hole in the nebula's center, insulated by a layer of dust and hot gas. Ultraviolet light from the hot cluster stars causes the surrounding nebula to glow. The Rosette Nebula spans about 100 light-years across, lies about 5000 light-years away, and can be seen with a small telescope towards the constellation of Monoceros.

...er, hey dont mean to rain on your parade, but Jesus didnt give us that rose, NASA did. Jesus died on the cross 2000 years ago (give or take). I dnt believe he works for NASA.

Unless theres a mexican guy there named Hesus working there, maybe thats what u mean.

Oh, and i think its entirely plausible to believe, if God's gonna sweep you up with a giant vacuum cleaner, that He might also allow you to write a sanctimonious letter to your loved ones and enemies, that you've 'ascended' and will be watching their slow, tortuous death with a bowl of popcorn on some cloud overhead. :angel2:

Done here.
Simple: The scriptures provided by FFH are LDS. Dune is not LDS. Therefore, those scriptures are moot to him :)
The fact that Dune is not LDS is of questionable import, since FFH's interpretation of those scriptures is inconsistent with LDS teaching, anyway. His eschatology is a mishmash of fantasies from various Christian sects and enthusiasts.

Blast from the past. I haven't heard that song in over thirty years.

Interesting to know that even though Larry Norman and his fantasy of being raptured are dead, others continue to embrace the same fantasy with same deluded fervor -- and continue to express it in Larry's words..

meh...
I could be wrong - but aren't most of those photos really taken in parts of the spectrum that we can't see (x-rays, etc) and then the color is added so that we can distinguish what is happening?

No artificial colors or flavors added.

Prove me wrong, anyone, specifically using that Rosette Nebula or even the Eye Nebula, but not some other Nasa photo.

The Rosette Nebula is a PURE COLOR photograph, no colors were added.

ROSETTE NEBULA (Photo taken Feburary 14, 2007)

The Rosette Nebula exhibits a striking circular symmetry which gives it the appearance of a partly opened rose, an allusion further enhanced by the rich red hues seen in this color photograph. Near the centre of the nebula is a cluster of blue stars catalogued as NGC 2244. These stars are responsible for making the nebula visible and for creating the hollowed-out central cavity. This cluster of stars formed from the gas which now surrounds it less than a million years ago and is thus very young on the cosmic timescale. The gas and dust at the centre of the nebula have been forced away from the bright stars by radiation pressure and the intense stellar wind which is often associated with very hot stars, forming a hollow centred on the cluster. This will gradually expand and dissipate until the stars are free from nebulosity.

ROSETTE NEBULA

Of course there are those who will read this statement wrong and say that red color was added.

Read the sentence again, it's talking about the illusion of a red rose, which is ENHANCED because of the NATURAL RED COLOR OF THE NEBULA.

"The Rosette Nebula exhibits a striking circular symmetry which gives it the appearance of a partly opened rose, an allusion further enhanced by the rich red hues seen in this colour photograph. Near the centre of the nebula is a cluster of blue stars catalogued as NGC 2244 ."

Prove red color was added, you can't ,cuz the photo was not altered in any way.

It's a PURE NASA photo of this Nebula.
