And using this formula of "the holy spirit will guide" leads you to the 10s of thousands of protestant denominations all contradicting each other. They did Not have to hear God's voice because God used His holy spirit - Psalm 104:30 - to convey His message.
Sl you sayLuke 21:32; Mark 13:30; Matthew 24:34 only had an initial or minor fulfullment in the 1st Century ( year 70 when unfaithful Jerusalem was destroyed )
The MAJOR fullfillment is for our day our time frame - Rev. 1:10
What are your best reasons for believing in the Bible as the literal word of God, if that's your thing? Heck, just give me reasons they don't even have to be good.
And using this formula of "the holy spirit will guide" leads you to the 10s of thousands of protestant denominations all contradicting each other.
It's interesting to me that numerous authors of the various books of the Bible never knew one another, lived during different eras and different locations and yet all said the same thing. Let's take the verses that refer to God as being a refiner or a purifier.
1 John 3:3
And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
Isaiah 54:16
Behold, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals and produces a weapon for its purpose. I have also created the ravager to destroy.
Malachi 3:2-3 esv
But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring offerings in righteousness to the Lord.
Mark 9:49
For everyone will be salted with fire.
Hebrews 1:3
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Zechariah 13:9
And I will put this third into the fire,
and refine them as one refines silver,
and test them as gold is tested.
They will call upon my name,
and I will answer them.
I will say, ‘They are my people’;
and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”
1 Peter 1:7
So that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Psalm 66:10
For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried.
Proverbs 17:3
The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold, and the Lord tests hearts.
Job 23:10
But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.
Jeremiah 9:7
Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: “Behold, I will refine them and test them, for what else can I do, because of my people?
Titus 2:14
Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
Ezekiel 22:18-22
Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me; all of them are bronze and tin and iron and lead in the furnace; they are dross of silver. Therefore thus says the Lord God: Because you have all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As one gathers silver and bronze and iron and lead and tin into a furnace, to blow the fire on it in order to melt it, so I will gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will put you in and melt you. I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of my wrath, and you shall be melted in the midst of it. As silver is melted in a furnace, so you shall be melted in the midst of it, and you shall know that I am the Lord; I have poured out my wrath upon you.”
Last time I looked around only people are responsible for originating concepts that go into books.Last time I looked around it is only people who write things down.
Why yes that's rather the point. Only people write.Last time I looked around it is only people who write things down.
And all sorts of nonsense, and contradiction. They did Not have to hear God's voice because God used His holy spirit - Psalm 104:30 - to convey His message.
The Bible is chock full of corresponding cross-reference verses and passages showing the internal harmony among the many Bible writers.
Jesus used the old Hebrew Scriptures as the basis for his teachings.
Jesus often quoted or referred to the OT by his logical reasoning on them.

Poor translations create false doctrines, such as the concept of eternal punishment.and contradiction.
How do you account for the inaccuracies and
things that are totally untrue?
One of the many things that makes ChridtianityPoor translations create false doctrines, such as the concept of eternal punishment.
I think that's a part of the lesson. As Jesus said, he came to bring division! One of the many things that makes Chridtianity
so absurdly unbelievable is the way its split into
40,000 denominations all claiming the others
are the ones with false doctrines.
Try the flood..Can you offer an example?
There's always a way to hand- wave it into even more absurdity.I think that's a part of the lesson. As Jesus said, he came to bring division!
Try the flood..
Only those who choose to think they are "of" their
chosen "god" and their personally chosen version of
what it is supposed to have said to someone is "gods truth".
Only those with an ego so huge, with such Faith in
themselves that they know more geology, biology
physics and chemistry than any researcher on earth
believe " flood". Only those who think they know so much
more than the educated * Christians who see it otherwise.
And you call that "of god".
* fundamentliist churchs draw their nnumbers from
the lowest rungs of the socio econo / education ladder.
