Recognition of Same-Sex Relationships, 1989-2010

No, it's not. "Sexual Orientation Disturbance" did not mean being homosexual. It meant being homosexual, being disturbed by it, and wishing to change it. Sexual Orientation Distubance was removed from the DSM in 1980, but "persistent and marked distress" about being gay is still considered a psychological disorder.

More compromise, but nothing has really changed. People who come to me have "persistent and marked distress", as do most people who have sinned, in whatever way. I wish you could see how happy they are once their sins have been forgiven, and they are able to rise above decadent lifestyles. Simple pleasures like hunting and fishing become pleasurable again. One ex-gay person actually told me that his experience was better than "smoking pot used to be", which, after a little thought, I decided, must be a good thing, in a society where more people are turning to drugs than to Jesus. Getting high on Jesus won't cause you any health problems, so why not give Jesus a chance?

I gave Jesus a chance, but happily I'm now free of that poison.

The reason people are distressed about being gay is because of people like you. Your approach is not the solution; your approach is the problem.

All good Christians hunt and fish.

Every time we repent from a real sin (like adultery and homosexualtiy), the first thing we do is dust off our old fishing pole and buy a new gun.

Seriously? You can't imagine how an effiminate gay male teen - who has never participated in homosexual behavior - could not be bullied, even to death, by people who think that he is gay?

I could see someone who acts like a sissy being bullied, yes, but who says that anyone has to act like a sissy? A boy can lift some weights and play some football. One thing that you haven't mentioned is that many boys are growing up without fathers to guide them, which is another issue that Christians try to correct.

Or if you mean, by "effiminate", that a boy suffers from gynecomastia, that can be corrected with surgery.

Yeah, being bullied will toughen the kid up. And the pastor can rub some dirt in it if the kid complains.

I suspect that you've never heard of the arts.

For one thing, not all gay kids are sexually active. For another, even straight kids get bullied for being perceived as gay.

But even if the kids were engaging in "homosexual behavior," how would that justify the bullying?

You're contradicting yourself. If straight kids who act like sissies can be bullied, then how can you blame Christianity's view that homosexuality is a sin?

I don't know why I continue to be so astounded that people like you can justify this kind of **** in the name of Jesus.

Why are you assuming that anyone is justifying bullying? I haven't said anything of the kind.

I recall many sissies in grade school. Their lot was often a miserable one, & they seemed absolutely unable to be or act like someone else.
So in a sense, yes...it appears to me that they have to act like that. Similarly, my being an engineer is incurable. One learns to cope, but
I'll never blend in with neurotypical society.
The simple solution is to prevent all bullying to all kids for whatever reason.

Why are you assuming that anyone is justifying bullying? I haven't said anything of the kind.
You gave me the vague impression that bullying gays was acceptable too. It would be good to directly dispel such misimpressions.

Read what I wrote. I said straight kids are bullied because they are "perceived as gay."

Why are you assuming that anyone is justifying bullying? I haven't said anything of the kind.
That's exactly what you're saying. You're blaming the victims. And it's contemptible.

I'm not condoning bullying. Let's try to avoid using strawman arguments.

Arts are good. A boy should have a well-rounded education, including arts, science, sports, farming, hunting and fishing. We don't want to forget that the axe, the plow and the rifle civilized the United States.
