Relatively Uncommon Things About You

OK DS, analyze me. I use commas and dashes all over the place.

I'm admittedly not sure I'd be able to do that accurately, mainly for two reasons:

1. I haven't read many of your posts compared to most people whose posting styles I can identify this way (but only due to your relatively small post count rather than not enjoying your posts; I like reading them :D).

2. When it comes to your use of punctuation in isolation of other things about your posts (grammar, spelling, paragraphing, use of capitalization, etc.), nothing stands out to me as being particularly identifiable about it compared to many other people's use of punctuation.

Both of the above factors might change with time, though. If/when that happens, I won't hesitate to play clairvoyant on your posts anymore. :p

I am my office's pull-up champion.

I dunno, most guys in the office are falling short on this.

Let's see...

I'm learning Hindi.
I do bench press and squats as apart of my regular workout routine.
I have a love for miniatures. Any tiny, tiny version of a regular thing fascinates me.
I hate talking on the phone.
I love horror films (Not gory ones though)
I make puppets.

How many can you do? (my all-time high was 28)
That's pretty awesome! I don't know anyone in person that can do 28. That's with good form, palms facing away from you on the bar? If so, that's really good.

My all-time high is 20, which was my number to win the office record. Some of the guys there that work out a lot can do in the high teens, but they're bigger than me and so they have to lift almost twice as much weight and don't seem to have the proportional strength to do 20.

Some of the programmers can't do any, and the other women in the office haven't been able to do many. An engineering office might not be the most fit group.

There's an older guy at the office who I suspect can do more than 20 but he does not participate in the office pull-up contest.

Based on what I've seen, these are the main things I've noticed that I generally identify your posts through:

• You tend not to use commas to separate certain words/interjections from the rest of the sentence(s) they're in, although commas would normally be used after them (strictly speaking). For example:

A lot of people do the same thing, but from what I've seen, their spelling and grammar tend to have a lot of mistakes. Your posts don't seem that way to me, though, so the lack of commas after the introductory interjections/words combined with the relatively polished grammar and spelling is one of the things I identify your posts through.

• Sometimes you use commas where they wouldn't normally be used (again, strictly speaking :D). For example:

• You use hyphens to perform the same function as em dashes and seem to always leave a space after but not before them:

I could be wrong, but I generally get the impression that your posts are written in a way so as to express thoughts in "real time" as opposed to being prepared in advance, if that makes sense. Your use of commas seems to me to reflect this at times, as it appears to indicate mid-speech pauses as if the written material were being spoken by someone.

By the way, apologies if I sounded pedantic above, since I admittedly think I might perceive what I said above as such if it were posted by someone else. Then again, maybe it doesn't sound that way at all and this is just me overly analyzing things again. :p :D

OMG, now do me! I'm dying of curiosity!

In high school, I had a very slender but muscular friend who could do a ton. We were all envious. The jocks didn't like it. :)

- I like eating bread.. With nothing on it. Just bread.
- I'm a sleep moaner (Instead of talking or snoring, I just moan a lot)
- Whenever I write on something I always sign it with my signature, Always, no matter what. Even if it's just a post it or a reminder to myself, I still sign it.
I eat bread plain, too. I prefer it that way, although I will put butter on it, particularly when it's warm.

This was 20 years ago so I'm not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure it was overhand (palms facing away) and as far as the form goes, I had people watching me on a cpl of occasions and no one ever cried foul so . . .

I'm curious to see how many I can do now. I'll get back to you. :p

Yeah a 200 lb guy that works out every day and has the body of a model isn't thrilled about being our pull-up runner-up, right behind a thin girl. ;)

People that are skinny-fit are optimized for high-repetition things like pull-ups and push-ups.

I saw a 10 year old boy do 100 pushups with good form. His arms were like pencils; basically no visible muscles, and his wrists were super skinny. But watching him do pushups was like watching some little robot just pump out 100 of 'em.

Sounds like you did them well then. Some people do chin-ups and call them pull-ups but they're a different exercise and people can usually do more of them than pull-ups. To do 28 pull-ups is certainly possible, but means you were quite strong.

Definitely get back to me on your number; I'm curious!

Could you tell us a little more about that?

Uhm when i was 5(i think.... lol) years old i was diagnosed with cancer near my vocal folds. The cancer was growing and i was a little bit too young for chemo or radiation therapy. So it was either dying or removal of the cancerous tissue which included small parts of the vocal folds. Though they had to remove the vocal folds entirely as they wouldnt have gotten all the cancer if they didnt.

And well here iam.
