It's not "them" that I'm referring to. I'm referring to myself. And you don't know how observant I may or may not be compared to you.

That my observations differ is no indication that I'm "less" observant. It just means that I've been exposed to different things, and my experiences lead to different interpretations.

To be perfectly honest, seemed a bit serious to me.

I think disregarding the importance of politics is mainly from a perspective of privilege.

Those who are majorly victimized by politics can literally have life-changing results from political changes, like being able to access healthcare or not, be able to realistically get a quality education or not, having access to clean public parks and other outdoor areas or not, or being imprisoned for their sexual orientation or not.

For people in positions where politics just means paying a 31% or a 33% income tax rate, or whether some mild mortgage deduction exists or not, politics seems more like a thing that other people have to worry about.

We as humans have only been around for a brief flash of time compared to the age of the Universe. IMHO if we don't change our priorities and wise up we will be going extinct very soon in deed.
