Faith is the excuse given when there is no evidence.Evidence????????????????
There is no evidence needed for a faith based belief.
A celebration of willful ignorance is not something to be proud of.

Actually faith lets us see the evidence that is right in front of our eyes but those without faith cannot see it.There is no celebration of ignorance but a celebration of the evidence that faith lets us see.
I and millions & millions of faithful would disagree as would many in the
field of psychology.
Faith is a necessary component of a healthy individual.
"We act in faith when there is no guarantee, no certainty. No one knows what kind of life an infant will have, yet people continue to have children. No one can know how life with our mates will turn out, yet we continue to have faith our relationships will last a lifetime."
The above from:

Please read the article. You will be the better for doing so.
Faith is a VITAL part of the human condition. Denying faith denies your humanness.
No atheist has ever proved the non-existence of vishnu. No atheist has ever proved the non-existense of God. Only their belief that there is no God.
I am well aware of the psychological utility of faith. A lot of things have psychological utility that are not based in reality. Defense mechanisms for example. A lot of them hinder a persons psychological growth. This is why psychologists help people to overcome them.
The article is not talking about the type of faith you are talking about. The kind of faith you are talking about involves believing that something exists without evidence to back it up.
The type of faith the article is talking about is hope for a desired outcome.
Not the same.
It is interesting that the people who call themselves heathens or atheists are the ones who try to tell people who believe in God and the Bible that they are wrong.
No atheist has ever proved the non-existence of vishnu.
Are you willing to admit vishnu is real as well?
No, a church should be more about serving God and following what is in the Bible.

Nice try! No go!
I was raised Christian, took Comparative Religion, and a separate course from the Catholic Church.
It is my STUDY of the Bible that told me it was NOT the word of any God.

I expect nothing. Just stating what the Bible says. You are free to accept or reject it.
He may think the organisation is worth reforming.
Making it more christ like than christian.

Gee.....I wish you had the space on this forum to elaborate what you mean by
saying your STUDY of the Bible told you it wasn't the word of any God.
Studying the Bible proves there is no God.
How interesting that is to me.

Exactly. The Bible isn't God, nor is it some pocket universe or something. It's a book. Everyone in it are CHARACTERS.I said the God of the Bible isn't God.
The bible says lots of things.I don't know who "you folks" are but the Bible says a man should not lie with another man like he would with a woman. It is not my opinion but the words of the Bible. Of course, people who do not believe in the Bible will find some excuse to say it does not mean what it says. Again, that is your opinion. But the Bible is very clear. The original post was about a person who was supporting the LGBT community so that is what brought up the subject of homosexuality - not "yu folks."
