Outa here... bye-bye!
Where have you seen political discussion outside of subsections designated for politics?
Some nights, they take up 3/4 or more of the 'New Threads' list. There isn't a 'more' button to scroll onwards. IDK of any way to ignore entire subforums but seeing as ppl I've ignored still have their threads show up there I guess not.

Okay I'll come clean:

See there on the staff roster where it says Quagmire
Quagmire2
and
Quagmire2.0?

Those are all me.

Sometimes people will see through your disguises no matter how cleverly thought out they are.

I also have a test puppet named @Naykidape for anybody who didn't already know that.

That might be a useful function to add if feasible.

Imagine having such a fragile belief system or worldview that it begins to fall apart immediately upon stepping out of the confines of an echo chamber.
So you are here to damage fragile mind then? Since you get upset that some religious people find a religious forum to be a place of no religiousity because of "must pull religion down kind of members"

If you're truly confident in your faith, then it would be strengthened rather than weakened by critique and scrutiny. How do you know I'm not here on god's behalf for that very reason?

If you were here on Gods behalf you would speak in a glorioues way about the teaching and of the members who are truly good followers of the teaching.

Talking smack about religion that people hold dear to their heart and practice as good they can, is not helping the believer, it take away the reason many come here.
Most of religious people know and understand their weaknesses, and do not need atheists to tell them.

But some atheists believe they understand the deep wisdom in religiius scripture better than people who practice for many years.

Dont wast your time on taking **** about believers if you cant handle that believers tell you when enough is enough ;)

Not sure religious critiques got that by the way ;)

Sometimes it is more like a atheist forum attacking religion....

People show up very excited to share their positive experiences with religion and God(s), or curious about other religions… and they end up leaving, severely disappointed in this site’s absolute failure to deliver. Why would they remain? The so-called “largest forum for discussing religions around the world” is false advertisement. Perhaps it was not always this way but it has become an echo chamber where the majority of topics are people complaining nonstop about Abrahamic religion (or religion and theists in general), complaining about right-wing politics, and about how “horribly oppressive” they feel “the west” is.

It’s like going to “the largest steakhouse for eating steak around the world” expecting a nice medium rare steak but instead all the food is plant-based products and the people there are complaining about how horrible meat is for you.

I came here with a passion to immerse myself in the lore of various religions’ gods and goddesses, their demons and angels or whatever other awesome classes of forces Above or Below or Within us. I wanted to hear about these things straight from the hearts of those who embrace them. I wanted to get involved in epic discussions about God, and Athena, and Lilith, and Enlil, and Freyja, and Set, and all these bad *** ancient gods from different cultures and how people embrace them and how it makes them stronger and what they mean to them. I wanted to hear how much their traditions mean to them, and find new things to admire and respect, and be inspired by… and find strength, power, wisdom and beauty wherever it can be found.

What I found here is not that. It’s just mostly a certain type of politics, and mostly anti-religious attitudes.

My friend, for some ppl... somebody needs to. Nature is to ignore one's faults, but more to the point, the faults of one's community. So many times I defended the evil (yes, evil) in my 'community', my 'faith group'. in direct opposition of G-d and all that is good. NOT ANYMORE.

Thank you for sharing.

Now maybe some people can finally see that it is not only I that has experienced these things. Maybe all my effort (and anger) finally pay off.

Who have I talked **** about? Btw, how do you know my post history isn't "the teaching"? Also, someone questioning religious texts and such doesn't necessarily make them an atheist. Let's take the novel "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" for example. Are the only possible options 1.) Abraham Lincoln actually slayed vampires, or 2.) Abraham Lincoln didn't exist?

I have no knowledge about any of that and can't answer.

The **** i talk about is coming from radical atheists (you seen my posting about them, i am sure)

You know that Abraham Lincoln Existed, and you know he didn't actually slay vampires. My point is belief in god and belief in what men have said about god are two different things. A person can believe in the former and still doubt the latter.

You mean "radical" in the way a ninja turtle might exclaim, right?

People assume the question whether gods exist or are knowable has been settled in the positive and are surprised that that isn't a common thing.
RF has a special corner for those people which are the DIRs.
In the open forums, expect to meet people of all world views.

Disagreeing isn't attacking. It's wouldn't be much of a debate if everyone agreed.
To disagree is very common and even welcoming, but when words are used to harm or belittle then it is not good anymore.
I love discussion but not when it comes to "my view is better than your view"
