Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
Let me try to explain it. Instead of dividing the world into theists and atheists, you will get a different result if you divide along the line of moral absolutism and moral relativism.
Morality is a super difficult topic to discuss because there is so many ways to look at what morality is, and there are levels of morality too :)

Correct. But if you have a given overall code, there are better ways to go about it. Not that my code is better, but by studying, what is known about morality, I have become better at it. Of course that better is my opinion to me.

Be who ever you want
You have to sing the song....

You want me to sing according to the critiques tune?

Then the question arise..why?
If i always listen the critiques they "win" and i would not be a free person to believe what i naturally do, it would be to follow a belief that is not my own ;)

To disagree is very common and even welcoming, but when words are used to harm or belittle then it is not good anymore.
I love discussion but not when it comes to "my view is better than your view"

This isn't just from the atheist and agnostic members, though. I think this is just a human trait. I find these views are rarely supportable and can be either ignored or called out.

Imagine having such a paucity of belief or opinion that you spend hours online attacking the belief systems of others, while offering absolutely nothing of your own.

That comment isn’t aimed at you, btw; it describes the small but vocal subset of highly trained ‘attack atheists’ who frequent this forum.

Where does one recieve training in "attack atheism"?

Due to my old food fight (forum) doing the dirty on all non American members and shadow banning them i was looking for something to replace it with.

Most forums i looked at were either dedicated to a particular subject or on the same lines as the old stomping ground, general purpose and poorly moderated

I came across RF, first thought... Religion, I don't think so but took a look anyway.

It was a breath of fresh air, well run, basically friendly encounters, a wide variety of subjects and the members seems to be reasonably intelligent.

I joined, liked it and have been here since.

I've met people who i am happy to consider a friend though I've also met a few that i wouldn't **** on if they were on fire and various personalities in between.

I've learned quite a lot about religion and its motivation during my timry here, I'd say that despite its name it is among the better forums in internet land.

34750 accounts and only six dissatisfied customers?

I'll take it.

And out of those six I know at least some of them are people that were interested in me romantically and didn't handle the rejection well.

In fact I'm pretty sure that's what all of those are about.
That romantic interest would have changed dramatically had they met you in person.

I googled reviews of RF and found some interesting stuff and had a laugh.

Religiousforums is rated "Poor" with 2.5 / 5 on Trustpilot

Some reviews accuse mods of making fake accounts! What say you, mods? (Hope this isn't breaking rule 1)

Give a review of www.religiousforums.com below! I'll start.

RF is filled with wonderful people who like to share their knowledge in friendly, yet sometimes heated, discussions. The mods seem to be diligent about their jobs. I have learnt a lot from RF! 10/10 would recommend

I never knew there were any reviews of this site. I've never had any real problems with RF.

I have a few minor points of critique like the secrecy of moderation and some of the broken features that won't get fixed like the search function but overall it's still a 9 out of 10.

Let me assure you, the mods would like the search function fixed as well. It is out of our hands.

My review of RF:

Perhaps not for those with fragile egos or those who have fixed beliefs and who will entertain no others. But, if one can laugh at oneself as much as laughing at others, one can question oneself as much as denigrating others for being some particular thing, then perhaps this is the forum for you. Although the forum title might be misleading, given that probably the larger amount of discussion/debate/raging doesn't involve religions, or only tangentially, this is what makes the forum such an interesting place to be. And the format, with all the added features to enable one to express oneself as one might want, is probably one of the best on the internet. If you have a religion/idea/political stance/etc. to sell, don't be surprised to have such queried or even demolished, given that this is not essentially the aims of the forum - but healthy discussion and debate are.

The forum is hardly a place to have a quiet life and with support from those like-minded - plenty of other sites for that but it is even possible on RF if one has the discipline. And if it seems that there are more non-religious than religious on the site making their views plain, so much the better, since who wants to have one's views confirmed all the time. A mirror is more useful for doing such.

PS There is always 'ignore', for the sensitive or perhaps those who simply admit defeat. :D

Rating? 9/10 (For one or two unreasonable warnings)
