How do you not let someone off for their wedding???

She's the worst GM they've ever had by far. When she heard that the daughter of one of John's co-workers was getting married, she went to the woman's office and announced, "Your daughter had better not be getting married Mother's Day weekend, because I won't approve that." The girl is getting married in July, but she succeeded in deeply offending the mother anyway.

She refused to allow another employee to leave at 4pm instead of 6pm for a week (even after the woman's department manager had okayed it); the woman had wanted to spend a little extra time with her son who was home for a week before he had to go back to Iraq.

No, not in my experience. However, a large group of employees from every department have already complained about her to her superior, with no results.

John is more prone to swallow his anger and keep his mouth shut; I'd have quit (or been fired) by now.

Good news! This afternoon, John's boss finally approved his time off, and it took me about 30 seconds to get my time off approved, too. (I have a much better boss.)

So we're on for Tuesday, 29 September in New Haven, CT. Exact location still to be determined; I have a place in mind but haven't made arrangements yet.

Draka is unable to officiate, and we're running on a shoestring budget with few confirmed guests, so we decided to get married at City Hall. We can still have a limited number of guests; the lady at City Hall said we can't have "fifty guests or anything," but I think we should be able to accommodate those RFers who can make it.

We'll be getting married on Tuesday the 29th of September, and we just plan to go out to eat afterwards. Please let us know if you're coming. Right now we just have three confirmed guests -- you know who you are.

Between kids in school and both of us working during the week...well...
