How do I keep missing it? Where is it in the newsletter? :sad4:

At the bottom ot the Religious Education Page there is a section entitled Forum Administration (Site Information). Click on the sub forum, Forum Newsletter and RF History thread and you are there. I'm in the Cardero's Cartoon Corner or RFfilaiate section of the newsletter twice a month.

I went looking further after I made that post above and realized I was thinking the cartoon was every week and somehow I kept missing it. Once I figured out (doh!) it was bi weekly....it made sense. :p Great stuff, my friend. Something very good to look forward to. :) Love the new Avie....cutest Christmas one yet.

REFLECTIONS: When I was younger, I used to collect non-sport trading cards. I wasn’t a sports fan but they had enough non-sport sets of popular TV shows, movies and bizarre interests that kids would enjoy. Card packs usually included a set of 10 cards and you got a stick of petrified gum and sometimes a sticker. When I got older, trading cards (especially the non-sport variety) made a significant comeback. Gone was the stale gum and it was quickly replaced by the chase cards. Chase cards were rare, uncommon cards that were included in 1 out of every 100 packs. These consisted of prism cards or autographed pictures or holograms or a combination of all of these. Rare characters were ever popular as their sport card rookies counterparts were. Anyone who has witnessed a child opening up those Pokemon cards knew that this was big business.

So the idea came quickly that if Religious Forums had a card set who would be the “hot cards”? I petitioned a few members on this and the ones who did get back to me were usually thinking along the same lines as me... we had no idea. I always liked Jay’s “Groucho” avatar and thought that should be a chase card but I had to top the rarity of that and that is how I arrived at The Voice Of Reason “Post Your Pic” hologram. When the beloved The Voice Of Reason was on RF and the “Post Your Pic” thread was still in it’s infancy, everyone ribbed TVOR about posting his picture in this thread because he would always adamantly complain of being homely and unattractive. So I thought, this would be the ultimate collectible in the RF trading card series. Don’t know who the Voice Of Reason was or weren’t a member when this event transpired? That’s okay, I included many other jokes to please remaining members.

Favorite moments:
Drawing younger versions of current RF members.

Ryan tossing the top poster cards away (collectible card companies were always notorious for packing in numerous cards of popular characters that you already had and/or didn’t need).

lol, that's more than cute. The heavy inside jokes just further help the story line. Deffinate kudos my man. :)

For some reason, I am still left wondering what the most sought after "chase card" in a RF trading card would be. I feel that that the punchlime (although it may effect me on a personal level) is still incomplete.

Best. Comic. Strip. Ever! (As a fellow card collector, I know the feeling of always winding up with the same cards, hehee! I must say, the thought of being used in a bicycle delights me!)

 Thank you for doing these! They make my week!

...and Lil' Nutshell, with the Dorito dust falling off it. As we get older, we get the binders, the plastic pages, the candle, the sterilized tweezers and the rubber gloves when we handle our cards.

REFLECTIONS: Since there are many anthropomorphic opportunities for the RFfiliate’s Universe, I thought it would be interesting to use a well known Biblical circumstance and season the story with anachronisms to see how certain characters would handle themselves, in this case Noah and the flood. I wanted to bring out the comfortable lifestyle that we as a society can sometimes become accustomed to, even in the face of disaster.

Hahaaa! I missed that one, Pat. You're so good!

I wonder if Vince (tcprowling) minded being portrayed as a chick? At least he looks good! :p

I used the words "traveling companion" to play it safe. tc prowling was using that "hot" white tiger avatar at the time and I couldn't resist pairing it up with Ezzedean's lion avatar.
