RFK Jr. and the media reluctant to cover his candidacy

The surname Kennedy means something. I am sure he is the only POTUS from the 20th century the average American can remember or think of...
So you suspect that people love RFK Jr. just because he's related to JFK? You don't think people don't consider the ideals, values, character, conduct, competence, etc. of candidates?
Democracy is doomed if people are that stupid and shallow.

Exactly.
In fact a certain NY senator believed she would win the presidential elections just because of her own surname.
The same surname as a POTUS.

I appreciate honesty. If they think he's a politician who doesn't deserve coverage, they should say it openly.
:)

I think it depends on the individual's popularity level. If a candidate they don't like gains an unexpected level of popularity, then it might throw them for a loop.

It Aint Necessarily So

So does the surname Windsor. What they mean has been evolving for the worse, beginning with the Chappaquiddick Kennedy. Ambien Kennedy was another hit, and anti-vax Kennedy yet another. RFK Jr.'s ethos is pretty low among liberals and his candidacy (American English for "candidature") irrelevant to the 2024 election. Being an anti-vaxxer is a litmus test for disqualification in the minds of many American liberals and moderates as you have already seen on this thread.

You may be correct, but if so, how incompetent at being citizens the average American must be. Moreover, I would suspect that if they can't name any other 20th century president, they wouldn't know about Kennedy, either.

I expect the American voter to give the government back to the Republicans based in the idea that they are struggling financially and hope the Republicans care about them and have answers, which is about as astute as what you and @Estro Felino described. It might have to wait a cycle or two, since the Republicans are doing everything in their power to repulse swing voters, but it's the pattern for the last several decades - elect a Republican that eventually frightens voters (Bush, Trump), who then elect a Democrat with a steady hand, things calm down (Clinton, Obama, Biden), they then forget and go back to a Republican, like a woman alternating between bad boys that mistreat her and men who are reliable but not sexy or exciting enough.

And when they do, they will be punished for and terrified by it again, then try to run to a Democrat again, although it might be too late for anything close to a fair election to ever occur again. It may be too late now given all of the recent activity at the state level, where conservative legislatures are usurping from the voter the right to decide who takes office.

You reminded me....
A senator from Boston Mass
Was driving a comely young lass.
While lusting to pound'r
In a stupor he drowned,r
And that was the end of his....uh....hinie.

You forgot already? Wow!

Let's see that statement some poster said earlier...

Something like..

"Candidates who irresponsibly deny science don't deserve to be taken seriously".
I remembered what I said, and I also said that the statement made in your video (islands capsizing) was imbecilic, so what are you saying "no" to?

I would like to understand why Americans are obsessed with the word fascist.
Since it's a word we invented.
It means the US do care about our history.
You don't understand why tyranny and oppression are considered to be bad? Everyone should care about history in general, and learn from mistakes so that we don't repeat them.

Thank you. I edited the title. :)
By the way... JFK is remembered because he sounded like one of the people.

Surely.
Honestly I also think it's thanks to the negative examples of the past that countries better themselves.

The surviving Kennedy family members have worked hard to erase the memory of family patriarch Joe Kennedy, the anti-semitic isolationist who argued for appeasement of Hitler.
