Royal Wedding Coverage

I wasn't intending to watch the wedding but it was on when I came in from my morning jog. Kate looked hot in her dress and the venue was nice. Wish them both well but thats about as far as my interest goes.

This however, is a ridiculous look - but not one that is unexpected considering the source. Mrs Beckham, you goon, lose the hat!

(Proof that money cannot buy class.)

I like the hats, but the tie -- it's a slob-knot! Doesn't he know how to tie a windsor?

I'm fine with the wedding being a big thing, a news piece etc. I'm just not fine with not being able to use it for comedy.

You can use it for comedy as much as you like. However you may not use copyright footage with out permission.

As it turned out, there were over 2 billion viewers world wide. the TV royalties alone would have paid for the costs.

As usual it was extremely well done and the crowds were massive. They even had 20,000 watching the big screens in Hyde park. Hundreds of people camped out in the streets for three days to secure a good view, lasting perhaps 5 seconds. (including some Americans)

William and Kate are certainly popular.

I'm referring to the concept of monarchy.

The concept of a constitutional monarchy is fine by me.

The negative aspect of that tradition, which is giving any value to the 'royal family' aside from a historical view may be, or like i said seeing them as a nice reminder of older times, aside from that, any extra value given to them is a negative.

Humour me and list me a couple of negatives would you?

I know, i don't understand why though. Why should they reserve any kind of power even if its elementary or small?

What does being born to the current leader has to do with inheriting whatever power or privileges related to the country's representation?

What has those people done to deserve anything?

I didn't say it has negatives to the country, i said is a negative. By that i mean the concept itself is bad, in that it being injustice.

They have a special place exclusive to them based on nothing but blood line, and that place includes many privileges and to some degree power on the country. Do you really think this is a good thing?

Of course, at least for most of English people, otherwise it wouldn't have remained. I'm glad you at least enjoy it.

The way I look at it is if England exterminates the Monarchy all you will be left with is another boring country that is just like every other boring country.

Why is it that people are so dead set against anything that is exceptional?

Well i don't mind it because its exceptional, just because i think its injustice.

However also its not that exceptional really, many countries still have that kind of thing. Perhaps England is the most popular one at this, or their 'royal family' are the most famous ones.

Not a single damn nudist among the wedding party! No wonder some folks want to do away with the monarchy.

I didn't watch it. Over the last few days (weeks? months?), this is all we have had to put up with. It dominates the news, the papers, and every second programme on TV is some wedding-themed nonsense. Now that it's all over, hopefully we can actually hear about what's happening in the rest of the world.

Royal wedding? Don't talk to me about the ******* royal wedding... :verymad: :149:
