"The dog, which you saw before meals and to which you gave the piece of bread, is one with Me; so, also the other creatures (cats, pigs, flies, cows etc.) are one with Me. I am roaming in their forms. He, who sees Me in all these creatures, is my beloved. So, abandon the sense of duality and distinction and serve Me as you did today."

Jaya Jagannatha!
In my family too, my mother is a great devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba, whereas I am not. But I do not tell her she cannot worship him and such. According to each individual's prarabdha and their disposition, they choose one form, which others cannot deny.

One has to keep in mind Sri Kannappa - devotee of Lord Shiva, he too ate meat, infact he offered it to the lord too! But he was ready to give up his eyes for Lord Shiva and Lord Shiva appeared before him!

1.No harm shall befall him who sets his feet on the soil of shirdi.
2.He who cometh to my samadhi, his sorrow and suffering shall cease.

4.Have faith in me and your prayer shall be answered.
5.Experience the truth that i am immortal
6.Has any one been turned away who sought my refuse.
7.In whatever faith men worship me,even so do i render to them.
8.I shall never turn away with my promise. I shall lessen your burden .
9.Knock! and the door shall open . Ask and you shall be granted.
10.To him who surrenders unto me totally, i shall be ever indebted.

Please refrain from debating in the DIR and keep all forum rules in mind while posting, especially Rule 1 and Rule 10.

1. Personal comments about Members and Staff
Personal attacks, and/or name-calling are strictly prohibited on the forums. Speaking or referring to a member in the third person, ie "calling them out" will also be considered a personal attack. Critique each other's ideas all you want, but under no circumstances personally attack each other or the staff.
10. Discuss Individual Religions Forums/Same Faith Debates/"Only Sections"
The DIR subforums are for the express use for discussion by that specific group. They are not to be used for debate by anyone. People of other groups or faiths may post respectful questions to increase their understanding. Questions of a rhetorical or argumentative nature or that counter the beliefs of that DIR are not permitted. DIR areas are not to be used as cover to bash others outside the faith. The DIR forums are strictly moderated and posts are subject to editing or removal.

The Same Faith Debates subforum is specifically for debate between members of the same faith. Members that are not part of a same faith debate thread's selected faith may not post at all in those threads. The Political "Only" subforums are also used specifically for that group and may not be posted in by members that do not correspond to the political position of the subforum. These two forums are colored purple.

I love how this thread has over 1000 views and I'm the only one posting :D

I click automatically on any thread that says 'Hinduism'. This one is getting boring, frankly. I think most of us get it, and are just hoping for something new. :) And I do not mean another picture of Sai Baba.

Thanks for your opinion but as long as I'm present on this forum, this thread will keep running :).

SB,

Maybe you could post something that expounds upon your interests of Sai Baba and how you devote yourself to worshipping him and what started it all and other interesting facets of how it came to being. I would be more than happy with reading a 700 word plus post about your thoughts and analyzations of Sai Baba, his history, his contributions, why you believe he is divine to you, and other notes of importance. This is something many here would be interested in reading. I also would be most interested in reading about how a Kashmiri Pandit family became interested in Sai Baba when you are Sama-Vedi, correct?

Actually the only people who are very interested in Baba in my family is my father and I. I picked it up from him about a year ago and have been a devotee since. Ganeshji is my first though :)
