No unless you consider Lord Krishna to be hypocrite. Almost rishis had and used siddhi powers knowing well about their uselessness.

In my opinion the whole concept of Avatar is a thing made on belief and for most normal humans any claim to avatarhood is almost impossible to prove.
As an atheist, I do not worry about that. Rama, Krishna, and many others are part of my mythology. Hindus have created many stories about them, the purpose is to guide the society. They are stories about ethics and morality.

For the second part of your post, that is why we have so many modern Bhagwans. Everybody tries to become a Bhagwan. Satpal Maharaj is training his son Vibhu to be a Bhagwan, and Asaram was training his son, Narayan to be a Bhagwan. As for Nithiyananda, he is a Purna avatara.

What shall we do stop that may be arrest and put in jail those claim to be God.I am sure even a person with knowledge of advaita can filter out such cheats.

How did you decide that he is a liar? Please let us know if you have any substaintial findings or if you are just basing on popular internet opinions from so called rationalists such as Robert Priddy.Bashing him is not Going to do a world of good to you.

Beside who is forcing you or even me,to follow someone who makes ridiculous claims of being avatar.

Countless acts of abuse, numerous documentaries about his lies, money laundering and many other wrong doings.

Please, take it somewhere else. Not in this thread, please. SB-ji is being kind for he hasn't reported all of these posts. If there are any contentions with Sai Baba (not to be confused with Sathya Sai), please make another thread and leave this one alone. Thank you.

OK..but I am not here to debate them.I don't care whether Sai baba is God or not.Onus is on his critics to creates a thread.

And ShirdiSai did which of the following? ^ None.

I thought this was about both. Shirdi Sai was not a apparent abuser but he still does not get a pass. He did lived by his words, Sathya Sai is the one embroiled in controversy.

He is considered a Kaffir by many muslims. One thing to note is that believers often forget, that just because they respect a person doesn't mean that others are bound by some law to respect that person as well.

The miracles claimed by Shirdi Sai and the followers are ludicrous and farcical. They are not real and if these false miracles are the reason they people believe and people can protest them.

Clever People don't believe anyone for miracles. It is not something by which you attract serious sadhaks. No one asked you to respect Shirdi Said but you do not want him to preach a religion then that is not his fault.

Muslims have.no right to say to others what religion they have to follow.

I agree, I am not muslim. but in the eyes of a muslim/christian we are all going to hell after we die since we do not believe in their faith according to their holy books. Actually, thanks for inspiring my next thread.

When Satya Sai Baba was asked if He was God He replied.....You are God. The difference is I realize who I am.

ridiculous claims of being avatar.

What do you think an avatar should look like in this century?

Anyways this is a Sai Baba appreciation thread not a place for argument and disagreements. Please open a thread against him if you wish and we can go at it over there. Jai Sainath

I agree with this.

Whatever form of avatar one claims he is doomed through shallow criticism from normal rationalist. Even if Sri Krishna comes today he is also doomed. So you will be ridiculed no matter what if you claim to be an avatar.

Avatars yogamaya and our existing system of rationalist scrutiny is bound to produce false negatives.:)

A true rationalist would investigate and judge fairly.

Many so-called 'rationalists' these days have an irrational disdain for the possibility of the super-normal.

Can I ask for a clarification? Do you mean that there may be things that happen that cannot yet be explained, because science yet has no way of explaining them?: Welcome. Yes, science may not be able to explain every thing absolutely, but we have enough evidence that points the way.

Or do you mean that all events can currently be explained by science?: Again, Science can explain many events, it is working on the rest. It is a question of time. We made great progress in 19th and 20th Centuries. I believe we will make even better progress in the 21st Century. Just today, a full artificial heart transplant has been performed in France for the first time.

If its the second option, then your belief comes from your experiences. Others have had differing experiences.: Personal experiences are not counted as evidence. Factual corroboration is required.

There are people in other forums who also say that it can be done. There must be such people here also, but I am sort of new in my second coming here.

How many people does it take? Suppose there is a UFO sighting. One person? Two people? 300 people?

I've heard of many people sharing the same experience. An example is the Hindu Ganesha milk miracle. Somewhere between 100 000 and 1 000 000 eye witnesses, yet the rationalists maintain, "It didn't happen."
