Satan's Claws (Santa Claus): Satanic Deception

Or maybe you should just get a life and let people enjoy the holidays w/o someone trying to cram such worthless crap down their throat.
Now you know what it feels like to be an athiest who is preached to incessantly.

Christians educating Christians on godly principles, that's what I'm here for, and if athiests listen in on the conversation, great, join in on the fun, they're much more interesting to converse with.

You would think that the Christians here know the "godly principles" that they are supposed to be following and that they do not need preaching (and yes, that is what you are doing) from anyone.

But FFH, you have clearly not addressed to any Christian.
No, no one in particular on this issue, since it seems to run througout all cultures, religions, beliefs, faiths, etc., in one form or another.

Christians should know better though, than to have this tradition in their home. It's a blatantly (in your face), yet at the same time, subtle anti-Christian tradition.

A subtle Satanic deception, which quietly grips a family in a bad way spiritually.

Yes they should know better that if it doesn't have anything to do with the Religion or Culture it is automatically evil and Anti-Christ. Give me a break, it just old seeing how you find ways to call everything you don't believe in evil and of Satan. It doesn't break the rule because you find ways to say it so that it doesn't, call me paranoid ^_^ but you do do this.

Guess we really don't know which South Park animator is an LDS apostate.

Gordon B Hinckley mentions South Park episode and apostate South Park animator in talk.

Gordon B. Hinckley, Regional Conference Talk, November 22, 2003

"Very recently a certain animated moving picture was projected be electronic means and distributed through the Internet. I have not seen it, nor do I anticipate doing so. But I am told that it is laden with the use of profanity and it distorts the wonderful and marvelous work of the Prophet Joseph Smith.

Not only is this animated picture not suitable for the youth of the Church, all members are counseled against viewing such material.

It should be further known that one of the creators of this work is an apostate of the Church. Viewing such material will be considered sympathizing with an apostate."

Quote from President Hinckley

Well he should have read the warning at the start of South Park that says it should not be viewed by anyone.
Anyway I like South Park, Jesus is even in it.

'Twas the Night Before Jesus Came

'Twas The Night Before Jesus Came'

written by: Unknown Author

'Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house
Not a creature was praying, not one in the house.
Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed.
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.

When out of the East there arose such a clatter.
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!

The light of His face made me cover my head
It was Jesus! returning just like He had said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said "It's not here," my head hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound.
While all the rest were left standing around.

I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
There's only one life and when comes the last call
We'll find that the Bible was true after all!

Revelation 21: 27
And there shall in no wise enter into it (Christ is speaking, through revelation given to John, of the New Jerusalem) any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Hey Katz, just stumbled upon the song you had mentioned in my other thread, you know the one in which I was compiling a Christmas CD to play at work.

Absolutely beautiful song sung by Karen Carpenter.

The Carpenters - He Came Here For Me

Oh wait that wasn't it here's the one you suggested on another thread, just found it now.

On the Carpenters' Christmas album called "Christmas Portrait" there is an absolutely beautiful song called "Christ is Born." You might want to consider including it.

I stumbled upon it after clicking on this video link.

Santa is still a nice guy FFH.

I cant see any logic in how he hurts teh christian faith. many churches decorate their places with tinsel etc. The one i went to even had Santas Grotto, mind you, that church was full for like...3 hours straight.

That sounds just vague enough to be completely made-up.

Agreed. It's from an unnamed regional conference (what region?) where transcripts are not usually taken nor copies of talks provided to the audience. That means any truth to it is probably derived from what someone thought they heard. Heresay is not doctrine.

Since Matt and Trey are the creators, and neither of them were LDS, I'd have to say that Mr. Hinckley didn't bother to get his facts straight.

Considering that this quote is so suspect, it's only fair to allow that perhaps Hinckley is not the one who needs to to his homework, but the person who concocted the fairy tale and attributed it to him.

This seems to happen quite often when a church decides to start a crusade.

Again, let's be fair. The LDS church is not crusading against anyone. Is FFH starting his own church?

You know what that quote reminded me of? It reminded me of that thread, "Things RFers Would Never Say." Anyone who has ever heard President Hinckley speak would recognize that this is so uncharacteristic of him that it's not even funny. I would bet my life that he never said that. By the way, we don't "start crusades" either, but a lot of people think we do.

the difference between the Santa tradition and the Christian tradition that i see in this particular instance, is that in the Santa tradition, parents actually give their kids presents anyway, the Santa story is just a bit of fun. here however, i see genuine fear struck into kids hearts. anyone who has to control their kids through guilting them and scaring them with the idea of an absolute judgment on their soul, and that they will be punished immensely for not praying or not believing in the power of the being that will punish them, then that is simply bad parenting.

Calm down, Katpur, I wasn't referring to LDS exclusively. It's just a trend I've noticed in organizations in general.
Sorry, I didn't think I was even close to not being calm. Generally speaking, I'm one of the first to notice when I start frothing at the mouth. :D I was just pointing out something that I felt was in error.

Done here.
If I didn't consider your posts spiritually dangerous, I'd put you back on my ignore list. You should be ashamed of yourself.
I think FFH gets the strongest negative reactions from his fellow Mormons, partly because you're wary of the possibility that his idiosyncratic views will be mistaken for beliefs that are common to Mormons.

I find him congenial and amusing, if a little loopy. ;) But then, I don't believe there's any such thing as spiritual danger.

Quote from President Hinckley
Kyle McCulloch, who co-wrote the "All About Mormons" episode and was one of the voice actors, is a Mormon -- but not, as far as i know, an apostate. I wonder how many of the Mormons who got upset about that episode actually saw it. One of the Mormon characters says:
Look, maybe us Mormons do believe in crazy stories that make absolutely no sense, and maybe Joseph Smith did make it all up, but I have a great life. and a great family, and I have the Book of Mormon to thank for that. The truth is, I don't care if Joseph Smith made it all up, because what the church teaches now is loving your family, being nice and helping people. And even though people in this town might think that's stupid, I still choose to believe in it. All I ever did was try to be your friend, Stan, but you're so high and mighty you couldn't look past my religion and just be my friend back. You've got a lot of growing up to do, buddy.
Considering South Park's take on Catholicism and Scientology, the LDS got off pretty easy.

Azakel,

This is a tradition that has worked it's way into Christian homes as well.

Not knocking any religion or person, only this very destructive tradition.

It's a great home wrecker

I don't subscribe to any religion or gods but on christmas morning I saw my neices eyes light up when others came together to give from their hearts. Her side of the family is christian. The message that was taught to her was that it is better to give than to receive and one should help those who are less fortunate and the joy on their faces is payment enough because at that moment you have made a difference.
