Scientists actually do know everything about the universe.

For someone who allegedly has their finger on the pulse of reality it's quite amusing how much goes right over your little head. I suppose that is to be expected however.

Well, thank goodness you caught those two huge eyeballs, eh? Now that's wisdom galore!

BTW, glad to see you changed your mind when seeing the second video with Menas Kamatos.

If the truth be told, I didn't bother watching it due to how underwhelming the first iteration was with SixPack.

Chopra is not in the second video. Menas never once says 'I believe'. He is speaking from a position of knowing. Watch it. Maybe you will unlearn something.

You inferred a cause to the Big Bang. What causes this cause?
You can't answer because there is no such 'cause'. Such 'cause' is only an idea in your head, one planted there by your teachers and others who told you a lie:
"Everything is caused by something else", and you believed it.

This is what I actually said in post #198:
"We currently know nothing about "prior" to the big bang, it is all speculation. We don't even know whether cause and effect existed "before" that event, since causality is a feature of space-time."

So instead of responding to what I actually said, you create a straw-man in order to get back on your new-age anti-science soap box. Your cheap tricks are very transparent by now, this is further evidence that you are here to proselytize rather than to debate.

Fundamentalist preachers and snake-oil sellers do tend to blank out anything that doesn't agree with their rhetoric.

However, even though you said 'we don't even know whether cause and effect existed 'before' that event', you are really saying it exists now. And then you did actually go on to say: " it's quite possible we will never know what "caused" the big bang." in Post #161, and it is THAT post to which I responded, and not to the one you pointed out.

Space-Time is a concept, and if, as you stated, that 'causality is a feature of space-time', then it, too, must be conceptual.

My ultimate point here is that Time, Space, and Causation have never been a reality, and they are not now. They are simply concepts overlaid onto Reality. When these concepts are removed, things are then seen as they are, and not via these filters. This is exactly what occurs in the mystical experience, sometimes involving only a brief glimpse into eternity.

Drop a brick on your foot then. Is the sudden pain you feel just a concept? Do this experiment and report back your findings.

Aw, how trite. Now put your money where your mouth is and show me at least one thing that went over my head. The opposite, in fact, is the case, because anything you and Muldoon can't understand, you immediately condemn as 'snake oil' or some other such nonsense. It's OK, because I understand it's just your way of dealing with something over your heads. Actually, it's right under your noses, but since your noses are entrenched in Old Paradigm Snake Oil, well, you know the rest. Pity.

OMG, here we go again with your simplistic simpleton wisdom again, the illogic of which you actually think is logical. I know. It makes sense to you, doesn't it? Alas, I think the word is 'nitwit'.

"Hey, Joe! Did'ja know dat if youze putz a bullet in da furnace, it'd explode? Huh?" No!!!..Really?

Cut the lame ad-homs and do the experiment. Don't do yourself any serious damage, just drop a small brick on your foot. Report back on whether the sudden pain you feel is just a "concept".

Must go now, boyz...have to catch a Chopra and then a Watts video. Good luck wallowing in the muck of the Old Materialist Paradigm in that stagnant backwater. Ciao.:D

Retreating back down your rabbit hole I see. Probably a good idea given that your mystical flap-doodle has just been neatly debunked by a simple brick-dropping experiment.

Maybe you could drop a brick on Chopra's foot instead, though he would probably drop his bottle of snake-oil and demote you.

No doubt you will be back at some point to do some more preaching, but if so please start a blog or a dedicated preaching thread, instead of repeatedly hijacking other peoples' threads.

OMG! The Density is more than I imagined! You really do believe in your own poop. Do you really mean to tell me that you don't get how idiotic your little experiment is?

Stop bleating and do the experiment. Drop a brick on your foot, and report back on whether the sudden pain in your foot is just a concept.

You won't of course, because you know this simple experiment blows your mystical flap-doodle out of the water.

You're the same type of idiotic lunatic who punches people in the face to prove the physical world is 'real'. Or perhaps the little boy who tears the wings from butterflies to see what makes them tick.

Now get lost, sonny.

Anyway, back to the topic. The general view seems to be scientists DON'T know everything about the universe. Big questions remain, like is ours the only universe, what is the nature or dark matter and dark energy, was there anything "before" the big bang, is the universe finite or infinite....and so on!

It's possible that some of these questions will never be answered. It's also possible that the "answers" we DO get will be incomprehensible, or that they will just raise a load more questions.
