Should abortions require partner consent?

2Pe 2:16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb *** speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of Elohim, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

wow. I reread my previous post, and my views have changed.

I don't think men should have a say. Its a woman's body, and they are going to have to suffer through a preganancy (or abortion) so its their say. Yes it may take two to tango, but the physical, and psychological damage is to the woman.

Women are definitely affected by this more so then men, however, I would have to say that the choice must come down to the circumstance in which the child was conceived.
Let me explain that a little....

if say, a woman was to be raped, and a pregnancy was to result, obviously, the women would/should have the ultimate say towards to abortion.

If it was done out of wedlock or perhaps a one-night stand, where a consensual act was taken part in, then both the man and women should have equal state in the decision. After all, both were involved in making the child, both should be involved in destroying it.

Assuming consentual sex, I feel there is a moral obligation to discuss things like pregnancy, birth control, abortion, children and STDs BEFORE having sex. That is usually not the case, but the moral obligation does not go away, and the discussion should still happen. However, I believe that there is no legal reason to force the issue.

Personally, I disagree with abortions, save in the most extreme circumstances. I feel it is murder to take a life created by consent, except for the mother's own life. Still, I believe abortions should be legal, because I do not believe the justice system is capable of picking out the situations that clearly call for them before the child is a toddler.

Making abortions illegal does nothing to rectify the reasons women seek them in the first place. We should correct all the problems that create the undesirable result, and then we will, perhaps, see positive change.
