Should US Repeal Bill of Rights?

Have people been arrested for Hillary jokes, or is this just a strawman?

No, no. It's neither. It's aimed at taking the mick out of how seemingly monolithic and unstoppable a figure she is in Democratic politics coupled with the idea that Democrats seemingly love their 'Dear Leaders' like Obama. Hillary will probably start getting the same treatment too eventually.

And this liberal doesn't think Obama or Hillary are progressive enough. LOL

So, you think that Democrats love their "Dear Leaders" more than Republicans? I would have to disagree and point out Ronald Regan, who is still mentioned in conservative media on a daily basis. I think both parties are equally guilty.

I think that most of the time someone accuses a political party of doing something untoward, it betrays a person who hasn't viewed their own preferred party as fallible. o_O

That's not what I meant. I was actually trying to poke fun of how the Democrats are portrayed by some on the right. I'm sorry; I should have made that clear to begin with. Reagan is definitely a prime example of Republican hypocrisy on the matter.

Any kind of totalitarian would want it repealed, be it fascist, authoritarian, communist ect. America is already become more totalitarian. I can only hope it reverses.

I support Hillary Clinton's campaign to repeal the US Bill of Rights. I'm not doing anything else.

If you want to know what's really thought of the Bill of Rights, find a Japanese American who was alive in 1942 in and ask them what they think of the Bill of Rights.

Well, they were eventually let back out.

That doesn't change the fact that once it became convenient for the Government, the Bill of Rights suddenly no longer applied. :)

And if someone can take something away like that, it's not a right, it's a privilege.

Rights only exist if people are willing and able to assert and defend them. While the rhetoric is that we have rights and Constitution defends them, reality is still that those with power can wield it against others, and will. The only way the system works is if we all participate and assert our rights (as well as carry out our responsibilities--something the founders should have emphasized). You cannot stand by and let others look out for your rights, or exercise your responsibilities.

I prefer to think of what happened as a civil rights violation.
Tis one which left a bad taste in many mouths,
one which I hope would prevent such a thing from recurring.
We must be ever vigilant....unlike Chris Christie.

Canada is moving towards it. The U.S. may as well follow suit.
The 2nd Amendment is a high hurdle for government to overcome though.
But in spite of that, we're in no danger of repealing it. Politicians do try to
chip away at it, which is why they should have Dunesque heart plugs.
