Should US Repeal Bill of Rights?

The 2nd Amendment is a high hurdle for government to overcome though.
But in spite of that, we're in no danger of repealing it. Politicians do try to
chip away at it, which is why they should have Dunesque heart plugs.
I don't see why the 2nd Amendment should be a problem, unless doctors get involved. Otherwise, I don't see people's arms being removed.

I prefer to think of what happened as a civil rights violation.
Tis one which left a bad taste in many mouths,
one which I hope would prevent such a thing from recurring.
We must be ever vigilant....unlike Chris Christie.
(I know a couple sisters who lived in the camps.)

The Bill of Rights is also, kind of, out of date. When it was written, it was written in a way that was appropriate
to those people living in those times. Like an animal it fit its environment and survived.

But like all animals that wish to survive, it must adapt to fit the new times.

We have a couple legal processes to amend it.
The language was also broadly crafted to allow application to unanticipated circumstances.
Still, I think it's aging quite well. (Better than I am.)

I am so completely disappointed that our society has devolved to seek entertainment in shaming other people.
I'm disappointed that people this ignorant exist in this country. But reality bites, ya know. What are ya gonna do? If you have kids: educate them, raise them to have the ability to think critically.

I'm in. What are you running for?

Oops. the trick was to be predisposed to the candidate, not the stupid idea.

Do these idiots even know what the Bill of Rights is!?

They only know that they are predisposed to support a candidate, period, they don't even know why. Obviously, you could find the right idiot and substitute "Trump", "Jeb Bush" or whoever for "Hillary" or "Obama".

Political candidates these days are marketed like commodities. Sell the product, who cares whether it works or not, or is even safe?

Or is it Confederatastan? Yankees and Patriots see no need to attack their government. Others differ, they don't like certain freedoms and so they rebel
The 2nd Amendment is in our Constitution.
The framers spoke of revolution & "dangerous freedom".

Btw, I don't feel the need to violently attack our government.
But I reserve the right to change me mind.

Any kind of totalitarian would want it repealed, be it fascist, authoritarian, communist ect. America is already become more totalitarian. I can only hope it reverses.
Without reducing the impact of money on politics, and without reversing the wealth concentration that keeps happening, it's unlikely to reverse.

The issue is interpreting how an amendment that was written about muskets in the 1700's should apply to weaponry that is orders of magnitude more powerful in the 2000's.

Required background checks? Limits on categories or clip sizes? We're leading the developed world in homicide rate.

It's unlikely but that doesn't make it impossible.

They had muskets back then but the founding fathers and people weren't stupid. They knew about science and how different methods and machines would be produced. I don't think the idea of more advanced weapons was beyond their grasp. It was about weapons in general, not just guns though.

You said "science" in the context of the founding fathers. Good on you. In contrast to those who falsely claim the country was founded by Christians intending to establish a biblically based country. Which I would not live in. If the government attempted to impose Christianity on me, in violation of the 1st Amendment, I definitely would be "born again", not as a Jesus Freak, but as a fervent 2nd Amendment supporter. I'd choose cold dead hands holding a gun over a cold, dead mind babbling mythology and dogma.

I believe in one God, and the equality of man.
The 2nd is for violent resistance to government.

Actually it was pushed by the southern states to insure they could keep their slave patrols. Everyone seems to forget the first clause of the 2nd Amendment, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State," You can read what the founders meant by the militia at this Link
