Small Government - A Trump Goal - Apparently

I’m actually excited about the possibility to reduce wasteful spending
Klaus Schwab has been telling this for years:
1) We will make you (the non elite) angry
2) You will own nothing and be poor
3) But you will be happy

Note: The rich elite will get richer ... that part Klaus Schwab conveniently left out

I’m actually excited about the possibility to reduce wasteful spending
This could only work with a Dharmic Presidents = one who never lies, and is selfless, definitely not Trump, Biden, ...

Yup. It's stuff like that is why Trump himself doesn't bother me. He's a wanna be dictator who seems content with table scraps so long as he gets the adoration of his base and gets what he wants.
It's those around him who worry me. Trump honestly probably doesn't really know about Project 2025 and doesn't care because it's not about him. But those around him do care about getting that unholy agenda done.
And if the criminal president wants the deportations to take place he will need the money for it, and that is what congress has to approve. It will be interesting to see if any republicans are worried about these plans and refuse to give money. The nbest thing for America is a conflict within the republican party, with a faction not wanting to go along with the inhumane policies. There will be some representatives from blue states who will worry about getting re-elected.

Also, quite good at obtaining government subsidies.

As anyone would if the government offers it. My expectation is that Musk and Ramaswamy will close the subsidies.

I would assume that if the government offered you a check in the name of Covid to subsidize your income, you would also take it because it is there.

It is extraordinary watching the American response to being fleeced once already by Trump; turning out their pockets for him again. It's like you can't wait to have him steal from you.

It sounds like you are not living in America. I can only assume that you are getting your information by news that is highly biased

I don't know if it's a matter of inherent "inefficiency" that comes with government - or more a matter of the corruption and temptations that can come with governmental power. Sometimes, they might seem like small things, like some official using their expense account for personal vacations, parties with friends, or things like that. But that can add up quickly depending on how many people do that.
True on all accounts IMV

@ the Dems not Gems!;)

Why would anyone not support this?
Decrease your hatred and
increase your tolerance levels.
Try to understand - this is good!

I hope none of those 4,400 ED @ DC employees are here - expressing their liberal views (all day long) on Tax payer's dime.
You can still contribute here
and continue to work from home
but without the actual paycheck!
3,300 out of 4,400 @ ED will be fired.
And that's just one example out of many.
There will be some increase in a few other fields. So, the smart & efficient ones will prevail.

Did you take government handouts during the pandemic?

Also realism and fantasy.

If you don't pay your electric bill you will save money. That is how you extremists are thinking. You show no signs of understanding how the federal government works, and why it is essential for a nation of 335 million to function.

Yeah, it's simplistic and naive. You have no idea what damage they will cause to citizens, and you only see it as money. Mesanwhile billionaires accumulate more wealth because their taxes are getting cut. What kind of Christian are you again?
Ok… you were anti-Trump before and you remains so. Ok.

It's a program that has helped millions of Americans in need that Trump tried to replace but offered no plan whatsoever. So, Trump's position is compatible with the Gospel how?

never mind :disappointed:
I am not dissing Obamacare… sorry if it came across as such. The context (from the poster) was simply - as they make adjustments on the budget, there will be some mistakes where an essential need was removed. Once we find it, let’s fix it.

Once they found an error in Obamacare, they fixed it

STATEMENT FROM PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP I am pleased to announce that the Great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency ("DOGE"). Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies - Essential to the "Save America" Movement. "This will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people!” stated Mr. Musk. It will become, potentially, "The Manhattan Project" of our time. Republican politicians have dreamed about the objectives of "DOGE" for a very long time. To drive this kind of drastic change, the Department of Government Efficiency will provide advice and guidance from outside of Government, and will partner with the White House and Office of Management & Budget to drive large scale structural reform, and create an entrepreneurial approach to Government never seen before. I look forward to Elon and Vivek making changes to the Federal Bureaucracy with an eye on efficiency and, at the same time, making life better for all Americans. Importantly, we will drive out the massive waste and fraud which exists throughout our annual $6.5 Trillion Dollars of Government Spending. They will work together to liberate our Economy, and make the U.S. Government accountable to "WE THE PEOPLE." Their work will conclude no later than July 4, 2026 - A smaller Government, with more efficiency and less bureaucracy, will be the perfect gift to America on the 250th Anniversary of The Declaration of Independence.
It's high time this bloated and oversized government gets some hedge trimming.

You can't have smaller governments and force price control on private companies, demanding loyalty to oneself, and expect the military to handle the border and domestic policing.
Price controls on private companies that's a Democrat tactic unless you know something I don't.

More likely that they will look for ways to funnel money to themselves from the public purse.

I would assume that if the government offered you a check in the name of Covid to subsidize your income, you would also take it because it is there.
I had some subsidy to my income during the UK lockdowns. Providing a safety net is one of the vital functions of government that allows us to have a functioning society.

It sounds like you are not living in America.
True, I'm in the UK.

It sounds good on the surface. I mean, who wouldn't want an efficient and fiscally responsible government?

But politicians always talk about wanting to reduce waste and inefficiency in government, but few actually make much of an effort to actually do it. I wonder how this would work. Perhaps they plan on posting moles around at government offices and timing the employees' bathroom breaks.

The problem is one man's waste is another man's important function.
