Small Government - A Trump Goal - Apparently

The why are businesses putting people and communities first not suffering?

Are they not? More "enlightened" businesses will take a longer view and realize that it's best not to be too greedy. Then there are privately owned companies that don't have to be the servants of the shareholders. Generally though, a CEO that doesn't maintain or increase the share price (which depends on short term profits) will soon be replaced.

OK… this is what the Democratic Republic is all about. Apparently more people are thinking my way than yours. Let’s pray for the best. Mid-terms are just around the corner and things can change.

[Sadly] Yes, that's about all we can do.

[Not so sad] Or, we can resist like heck!

@Kenny I do believe that, unlike many, you do have the well being of the country and its inhabitants at heart. I'd pray with you, but I don't pray. Maybe just hope?

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
TRUE STORY TIME:

I was the last officer's wives club President in Aschaffenburg, Germany back in the 1990s. Wow, talk about government waste! It was disgusting to watch. All our housing was upgraded even though we knew it was going to be returned to the Germans (who demolished it). I mean, like every room. The kitchens alone had to cost a ton. I could have done without all that brouhaha believe me. Oh, and we all have to be moved into other housing or hotels or whatever. My husband and our four kids stayed in a hotel, which the government also paid for. What a crazy time.

And that lowers the price of everything ... how? How does that impact the price of eggs?
It's all to do with the chain of energy. Fossil power for the manufacturers to produce, also fossil power for transportation which is arguably be the biggest and most largest expense that reflects on the prices you pay on the shelves. If it costs cheaper to produce and get it there, the prices won't be as high is the reasoning.

Energy is what drives the machine, and if the energy is cheaper , it will reflect on the prices you pay at the store.

Green energy can't do that yet. It's still hideously expensive and incredibly inefficient which doesn't do any good whatsoever for what you pay at the shelf.

Probably the only green notable exception would be nuclear power, but of course the US only has so many nuclear power plants, and none of it yet suitable for mass transportation with some exceptions made to a limited number of large naval vessels.

Again, how's he going to do that?

Drill baby drill doesn't get you there. You're already drilling baby, drilling, more than you've ever drilled before, as we speak.

And corrupt businessmen take money where it's available. And as the guys who set the rules, they can change the rules in their favor and take as much as they want..
That is exactly what is happening .. and it will all end in disaster. :expressionless:

The Democrats are "in on it" too..
There can be no change until people realize that the financial system underlying
Capitalism is wrong .. oppressive .. corrupt.
Yes! The US has many enemies .. rather than trying to kill/defeat them all, you should be
thinking more deeply about why that is?
But no, blindly and arrogantly fall in to a "fire" .. a fire of one's own making for its atrocities.

I'm all for it. Once green supersedes fossil energy, you won't have any problem with anybody being on board with it.

But not today.....

You know what? We've had to trim our budgets by more than 5 percent, so it's time for our government to do so as well.

The other half did that the last election

They probably did that too in the last election and I certainly advocate that you do along with others; as it keeps things balanced preventing extremes.

Sounds good to me!! Hope is good too!

May you have a great rest of your day.

Just less so than the alternatives.
If you are referring to communism, then that's the sad story.
The corruption in the Christian nation, US, is causing the rest of the world to turn
away from the west towards Russia and China .. is it because Russia or China
have a better human rights record than the US? No.

It's because they have no alternative, to defend themselves against US aggression. :expressionless:

I refer to every alternative to capitalism.
Communism, socialism, hunter gatherer, serfdom.

Now you're on to something.
Christianity is far more problematic than capitalism.
