On 2 occasions I have witnessed this in remote villages, the last one convinced me it was absolutly real, both did in fact unfortunatly the last one died in front of us.

No, I don't believe it exists. Actually this ties to our other debate on the power of symbolism : notice how only those who believe in possession get possessed.

The manic depressive bipolar patient will tend to seem like they are possessed until you give them medication. Its a condition that tends to appear suddenly, too; usually it starts due to being in stressful situation. Various things can set it off.

I would have thought that some behavioural aspects of schizophrenia could easily appear as spirit possession....

There are definitely so many natural causes that can seem like possession - starting from drugs that give the impression of it - that I'm inclined to doubt claims like these. In my experience belief is an incredibly strong thing. Even though it's pretty improbable, I'm more ready to think the victim died because of believing he/she was possessed than from actually being so.

It is hogwash so to speak. Brought on by different enviromental and cultural factors. Different tribes have different beliefs, and thus magically, different demons and such.

Almost every time it relates to what different tribes have been taught before hand.

This does seem plausible, also what scientific post mortems into the cause of death for these victims do we actually have?

The man could have been running through the jungle and had a heart attack or stepped on a poisonous snake for all we know.

There is simply too much information missing from this testimony for a third party to reasonably draw a rational conclusion.

Exactly. Our brains are wired to look for correlations and we often get the situation wrong because of this. Only a proper (scientific) examination can give the explanation, and sometimes nothing is found at first because the person looking was searching in the wrong direction.

Da man, when I walk thru!
I'm possessed myself, I have chosen to incorporate it into my being rather than oppose it. Not all possession makes you go crazy, although I'm sure many would argue that I am lol.

If if a proper scientific examination gives the explenation of a certain type of brain activity, what causes the sudden change in brain activity if no adverse physical effects are found, and the patient says they have not experienced any traumatical experiences to have caused the change?

Never witnessed it, but believe it can happen.

As I expected, every discounted it, no one however asked what was seen to convince sceptics.

How can you say everyone discounted it, when I said I am possessed myself lol. I wasn't being sarcastic either. But I guess you wouldn't call it possessed because I have learned to control it, although at one time I had way less ability to do so then I do now. Now my possession is beneficial rather than detrimental, except for the migraines, thus still suck.

But on that note what was seen?

I believe in possession. It's an important part of religions such as Vodoun. I love how they refer to it as being mounted and ridden like a horse. I had my own experience with some rude entity trying to force its way into me before.

Ok,my mistake,most not all.

The woman was possessed by her father who was very upset, he wanted to know why she did not inform him she had gotten married, the monks bought his still living best friend down to calm him and explain he was dead.
Her strength was beyond retard strength.
Her voice was pure man,her face changed, nothing major.

The man however several years later was clean living,no drugs, he could not be contained by even a large group of us, I was bitten, I study jujitsu and muay Thai, this little man was savage, I am well verced in the understaing of using internal strength,he was beyond that.

His eyes were what convinced me, he ran to a tree punched it repeatedly untill the bones potruded from his hands, raced down the centre of the street and dropped dead on the spot.

Whilst we were wrestling he made s remark about my mother and the date she died, no one in the whole country new that.

It was the eyes that convinced me more.
