Question Everything
Systems in general (not just non-linear and the even more specialized chaotic systems) consist of multiple parts interconnected often in feedback with mutually influencing or controlling effects. Sometimes I see the process of maturing as a gradual establishment of a minimal (tolerable) amount of rules one learns and commits to in order to avoid the unexpected for the presumed goal of achieving the desired. But in all cases when we persist we encounter some edge to our reality which is dangerous and our rules don't seem to protect us from reaching that edge, that metaphorical chaos.

I went to counseling some years back about dealing with my divorce and my continued relationship with my step children. There was fear and I was trying to compensate for the fear of others. However, my therapist mentioned the idea of there being a certain amount of "chaos" when moving from one stable system to another (she was systems training therapist), it suddenly struck me that I should make room for this high-energy, disorderliness in the transition in my family.

Your story reminds me of the notion of attractor basins and how one villager decided to stop fighting the energy pulling him out of his local basin of attraction...he thereby achieved the ability to transcend those particular basins.

Divorce is a hard one - I am in the process of moving from one "stable" system to another (see thread 1 and thread 2). The laws of nature vs. the laws of humans - the laws of nature are stable, you cannot exceed the speed of light, cannot escape gravity etc. We would like to have laws for humans - for people to be honest, loyal, kind etc. Chaos and disorder when it comes to people, stable when it comes to nature?

We went through a flood recently - spent a few weeks gutting houses. The craziest thing, outside the trees / grass / plants were green and beautiful after the flood - in the man-made structures, in the houses and buildings, complete chaos.... nature has it figured out. We don't apparently.
