If you are thinking of spiritual servitude, that is a calling and something one does out of complete personal free-will and deep devotion; not a task ascribed to a group (of any sort) by others.

You are recently married to the woman you love dearly. Your new wife is violently raped and becomes pregnant.
Now consider 2 scenarios based on your view...

1/ the pregnancy has complications which are life threatening. The fetus can be saved but it will kill your wife. Whereas an abortion will allow your wife to live. Do you choose the baby or your wife?

2/ The pregnancy is normal and a healthy birth is expected. Do you keep the child thus reminding your wife (and you) of the violence she suffered for the rest of her life. Or chose an abortion?
Two scenarios, two choices.
