Deviled Hen
- And now for some ultra-sensitivities and wickedness
- Genesis 38:8-10 - "Then Judah said to Onan, "Lie with your brother's wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to produce offspring for your brother." But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so whenever he lay with his brother's wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from producing offspring for his brother. What he did was wicked in the LORD's sight; so he put him to death also."
*sigh* This was just covered in another thread I went through yesterday or the day before.
Speaking of taking things out of context, try to understand this custom recorded in Genesis in the light of cultural laws and traditions about inheritance of land (which was what you needed to survive) and you find out it has squat to do with someone getting a little extra nookie or with "wasting" semen.
