The Creationist's Argument and its Greatest Weakness

Proving a universal negative isn't necessary when the positive claims aren't substantiated.

It's not a scam to oppose frauds whose claims are unsupported. Especially when those frauds cause egregious harms.

Ever heard of snake oil?

The great egregious harm is telling sinful man, who is given to paedophilia, rape, war and countless crimes, some of them perpetrated by the religious, some by atheists, that religion is the problem and that God, who died and rose to save you IMHO, doesn't exist. You are the problem. Get out of our way and let us share the saving gospel, why don'cha?

Again, atheists attack sound Christian posts of mine like flies on trash, because IMHO their master is the Lord of the Flies.

PGA.

Ah, but "holy books" encourage those crimes, by exhortation and by example. The bible and qoran are notorious offenders in that regard.

As far as I can see, religion *is* one of the big problems. The 'saving gospel' is, as far as I can tell, just a means for some to have control over others and to justify their crimes. Of course, other doctrines also have their issues.

Maybe instead of promoting religion, we can simply promote caring, honesty, thoughtfulness, and compassion?

There is something wrong with your fundamental knowledge base, because you wrote, "The 'saving gospel' is, as far as I can tell, just a means for some to have control over others and to justify their crimes." Here's a passage I was studying today, from Colossians 3, see if you discern the same problem as me with your concept:

5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. 6 For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, 7 and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them. 8 But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, 10 and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him— 11 a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.

I debate when I have something substantive, more than empty rhetoric and atheist canards.

Here's a Bible passage I studied today from Colossians 3, which makes your position seem silly:

This is simply not true. When it comes to debating against evolution all you have is empty rhetoric, and you really should not use such terms as "atheist canards". It appears that you would think the more honest people here are lying and we both know that is not true.

Ideally, all opposition to, dissent from his brand
of religiosity will stand aside voluntsrily, or be swept aside.

Good example of how the bible supports whatever
position a person wants to take.

Not bad advice, especially if one omits the oogity-boogity stuff.

However, one nice passage does not excuse the many horrors that permeate the same book.

As usual, you misrepresent my position. I don't "debate against Evolution." Evolution has been demonstrated many times. I promote original Creation, and believe we have gaps in knowledge and moral and scientific reasons to discuss Creation in schools. Surely you would agree that kids should learn about sex and religion and other things in school, not on the streets.

Oh, wait! I forgot, in your hypocrisy as an atheist, you want all religion not only out of school and government, but everywhere. Your true allegiance is showing.

There are hundreds of such passages, exhorting all Jews and Christians to live right. You are going to have use reason (and I hope, faith) to better understand why the Bible has so much good in it, as well as what you call bad in it.

Actually, what you do is proselytize as evidenced by your repeated cut and pastes of scripture.

Perhaps you can show an example of an atheist canard.

Atheist canard example: "Billiards Ball, who constantly challenges us with original thought, just cuts and pastes scripture."
