I don't know much about the process. Isn't a psychiatrist supposed to approve transitional treatment? How reliable is the judgement of a child?

The puberty blockers were a reasonable step. But surgery at fifteen? Too early. One can change one's mind and lose very little if on puberty blockers alone. But surgery is forever. She may have a valid case.

Where are her parents or her legal guardians? Why isn't she holding her parents or her legal guardians responsible for allowing her to have the gender change? Surely she has adults in her life who were legally responsible for her and her medical care when she was a minor. I don't know anything about the law concerning a subject like this, but aren't the parents legally responsible for their child?

Speaking of parents, we know that some are capable of pretty heinous things. Imagine if some psycho mother pressured and manipulated her son into transitioning because she wanted a daughter.

The New York Post is about as reliable as Fox News, and is owned by the same arsehole. It is exceptionally biased to Conservative talking points, and does not resemble fact. You might as well reference the National Inquirer. And what's more, searching for Chloe Cole shows up nothing but Right Wing news outlets. So color me very damn skeptical.
But let's say it's legit, and is something much more insidious than an individual's regret. What's your point? Chole isn't the whole LGBT+, neither are her views and regrets universal.

More than far-fetched, it's mind-numbingly moronic.
Sometimes things don't turn out as expected.
This points to the need for due diligence by
both patients & doctors before proceeding with
transition. Of course, this case doesn't mean
transition is wrong for all. Just like having a
brain tumor removed...it's usually successful.
But sometimes the patient dies. And yet, we
don't have government banning the procedure.

That exactly. They are trying to hyper focus on one case out of many.
But the reality is NO medical treatment or procedure comes without risks. But science requires large samples and trends so we know this risk is low, the regrets are few.
It used to be the standards were too rigid (you had to take a pink color job and be sexually attracted to men), and that didn't work. There was a time when the standards were too lose, and that was such a disaster that the Standards of Care were established and treatment results began to improve once people could be filtered out but while also allowed to be themselves (such as working with computers instead of kids), and the number of regrets and failed transitions went down.

It is a good question, as many surgeons will not operate on a minor. At all. No questions, no discussions, they won't do it.

No. I would call that reconstructive surgery. It might even enable a young boy to have a child some day.
