Possibly true but children should not be able to make the decision to be mutilated if they aren't allowed to make the decision about sex. How is any child supposed to make an informed and adult decision about something so important with no experience?

My guess is the schools punish the kids for being picked on by normal children. It's zero tolerance policies that cause most of these problem. Bullies rum rampant because it's not safe to report them.

I doubt many lives are "saved" and just the knowledge they can have the operation at 18 would suffice for most. Otherwise the best solution is to drop the age of consent to 16. Most 16 year olds now are experienced anyway and with all the porn, Siri, and Hollywood kids grow up pretty fast now days.

I imagine the responsibility for the decision would ordinarily rest with medical professionals and the parents, just as with any other life-altering medical procedure.

First I think we need to stop referring to professional surgery as "mutilating". That reeks of transphobia and stems from you (general) not agreeing with it. Mutilation is a violent and disfiguring injury. I'm sure you'll make an argument for "disfiguring", yet that still stinks of transphobia as the surgeries are voluntary, desired, and advised upon long before actual surgery takes place. It's not just a whim.

I'd suggest you actually answer the relevant question. Even if these people have regrets, WHO. CARES? People regret getting tattoos, or plastic surgery, but we don't write off everyone who wants them. So too does Chloe's misplaced outrage - if it's even real - mean nothing when it comes to transgender peoples the world over, nor does it get validity just because your hateful ideologies (evident in your apathetic dismissal) align with her story.

Call it a "baby temper tantrum" all you want, but that's all there is to it.

No, you want to throw shade on people making their lives better because some right-wing sensationalism story, and pitch it as "something to consider" as though it's applicable to everyone. You're being nothing but hateful and transphobic, shilling forward an "all sides" in an issue that is none of your business, and even none of Chloe's business. You need to learn to butt out of other peoples lives in issues that do not affect you in the slightest.

You are trying to make an argument using what appears to be a rare exception. Doctors already take this into consideration. Surgery on under aged trans people is almost never done. i see three possibilities. It could be a hoax. You were unable to find reliable sources that support this story and neither could I. Second, there may be a lot more to this story than we are reading. In other words your sources may have lied by omission. Last the story may be real and the doctors involved will get their donkeys sued off and will also receive severe disciplinary actions against them.

It is a false claim to try to say that the whole process needs to be rethought.

And you made your typical gross errors again. Refuting the ignorance and hatred you post is not poo pooing it. You always lose the debate if you can't support your claims with valid sources. In this case I tried to find valid sources that covered this story. None were to be found.
