The Democrats Created The KKK

Yeah and you quoted the wiki article out of context as well. I noticed how you skipped over the history, naming, and creation of kkk part.

Nope you are just spouting irrational nonsense now.

It's strange. Conservatives insist on the importance of US history, but suddenly cry "liberal propaganda" when something that contradicts their beliefs is included in the conversation.

I'd have to be conservative for you to have a point there. But yes you should try some non biased media for once. You .ight learn something other than the lies forced down your throat.

LOL! What the heck is a milk-blooded pinko fop?
I suppose this reflects the right's admiration for toughness and aggression, somehow.

The remark was somewhat tongue in cheek, but seeing as you missed the reference:

Communists were red, and they didn't care much for liberal human rights and democracy.

If were sympathetic to the reds, but didn't really support the full on revolutionary mindset, you were a pinko (i.e. not red enough). It was an insult from the left towards those perceived as being too moderate.

Only the moderate left (i.e. pinkos) supported the things you associated with the whole left.

Conservatives are generally against reform, being conservative and all, but I'm assuming the reforms supported by these liberal conservatives were, well... liberal, ie: left wing.

Nice tautology.

Left/right dichotomy is very reductionist, particularly when talking about long historical timeframes and tends to be an impediment to clear thought even before taking tribal identities into account.

If we have to use left/right though, then liberal covers centre right to centre left.

Example: Bismark, very much a conservative, introduced worker protections and a welfare state in Germany, partly to undercut the socialists who opposed it as poverty was good for revolution. Spinning these as left-wing policies is therefore incorrect.

Nonsense? Form the wiki article.
Six Confederate veterans from Pulaski, Tennessee created the original Ku Klux Klan on December 24, 1865, shortly after the Civil War, during the Reconstruction of the South. I thought the dems created the kkk? You skipped this part for some reason?

lol politifact is biased?

PolitiFact is a fact-checking website that rates the accuracy of claims by elected officials and others on its Truth-O-Meter.

PolitiFact has won several awards, and has been both praised and criticized by independent observers, conservatives and liberals alike.

And i Supposed the video u sent me titled Ben Shapiro DESTROYS cenk Uygur is totally unbiased. I guess alternative facts is truth to you LMAOOOOOOO

Stalinism, Uncle Joe's legacy to the world, features a ruthless approach to communism that relies heavily on:

  • an all-powerful supreme leader aided by a large body of secret police who "encourage" neighbors to inform on neighbors
  • purges of any potential adversaries to the supreme leader (with emphasis on the comrades who helped him achieve his position in the first place)
  • the imprisonment and murder of intellectuals
  • the occasional mass murder of entire portions of the population
Yeah that seems pretty marxist-Leninism.

Seeing as Lenin did all of those things too, it's definitely Marxist-Leninist: The Cheka, Red Terror, decossackisation, etc.

These confederate vets wer democrats.

You admit politifact recieved critisism, ok, well, here is a critism for them; its misleading for them to say the democrat PARTY did not create the kkk. Why? Because a party dont create anything. People create. These people wer democrats.

You dont think the libertarian party is different from the republican party?
What I mean is that a Libertarian/Democrat split would look very much like the Republican/Democrat split since the party would inherit so many Republican voters. If the Libertarian party succeeds in ousting one of the big 2 then it must absorb the people from those parties, just as the Republicans have absorbed the Whigs and have become the Whig party by doing so. The voting and political opposition tends to be around 50/50 all the time, because that is how our system works statistically causing smaller influences to be absorbed and two major factions to appear.

Over my lifetime, I've noticed that the Republicans have taken a great deal of pride in calling themselves the "party of Abraham Lincoln."
Yes, but we have to remember that back then the Republican Party was actually the more liberal party with its stronghold being the more northern states in the eastern half of the country.

They opposed slavery for economic reasons more than humanitarian reasons.
Actually it was both, and we have to give credit where credit is due, and that's especially to the Society of Friends ("Quakers") both here and in England who adamantly opposed slavery because of their belief that all humans have an "inner light". They also stood for women's rights and their right to vote for the same reason.

BTW, Wyoming was the first state to allow women to vote in state elections, and they did as such to try and attract more of them to the state as it had an overwhelming number of men.

Both parties were still overwhelmingly white and racist on a national scale
Much less so the Dems after WWII especially. I was a Republican in the very early 60's but switched to being more Democratic in the mid-60's, and the issue of racism was the #1 reason.

The very fact that, even under Republican rule, racism persisted in the South and was even endorsed by rulings of "Separate But Equal" is certainly a black mark against the Republicans who ruled back in those days.
Yep.

Not to mention what was going on in the Republican-controlled West, the continued massacres against Natives and overt racism against Asians and Hispanics.
Yep again, which is why they also tend to vote overwhelmingly Democratic today.

Not a good track record, so this kind of one-sided view of "We Republicans are such a bunch of nice guys" just doesn't really pass historical muster.
Amen to that, and Trump very much caters to that element!

People create. These people wer democrats.
Again, they were "Southern Democrats", which were of a quite different "breed" than those in the north and far west Today that element is overwhelmingly Republican as there are almost no "Southern Democrats" left. If there's a doubt about that, maybe check out the Wiki article on them.

You say a party don’t create anything, yet also say the Democratic Party created the kkk. Go away @Jollybear

By numbers whites abbort more because whites are not a minority..

Did you know? The vast majority of abortions-- regardless of race-- are Genuine Christians?

Even more irony-- the largest and loudest anti-choice group? Is also Genuine Christians?

And the irony gets more ironic? Among Christians who get abortions? If you divide up by Brand? Evangelical Christians get the most abortions of any other group.

It's not difficult to figure out why, either: Evangelicals are against Education, especially sex education.

So, it automatically follows, the are the ones having unwanted babies-- by a giant fraction more than anyone else. And if they have the money, they get abortions for their pregnant daughters.

Other, more theologically liberal Christian groups? Have the intelligence to teach their offspring how to not get pregnant. Largely by providing quality sex education to their kids.

Hint: "Just Say No" is a failed idea. You are not going to switch off millions of years of evolutionary drive* to Make More Babies.

* Or of you are a creationist: you are not going to switch of God's Certain Command To Go Forth And Make More Babies.

Ironic. Your Jesus would not agree with that statement, not even a little. He was very much Pro Government, in direct contrast to Libertarianism.

"Render unto Caeser, what is Caeser's" ~ Jesus.
Were Jeebus alive today, he'd have learned from history,
& been more skeptical of a big powerful central government.
Who knows....he might even get a job as a money changer.

Libertarians have more in common with the democrats. Some people who do not understand libertarianism erroneously see them as Republicans with training wheels, which simply isn't true. But yeah @Jollybear you don’t believe the modern democrat party is different from the pre civil rights democrats

Libertarians have more in common with the democrats.
There are "right libertarians" and "left libertarians", whereas the former are more in it just for themselves, and the latter is actually a more philosophical libertarian who feels that all others need to be treated humanely as well but with very little government involvement.

Gandhi was a left libertarian, for example, and he had problems with those on the right. Even Barry Goldwater felt that all too many "conservatives" were just taking that approach for largely selfish reasons.

And we've seen that played out even here with some who call themselves "conservatives" and/or "libertarians", and yet they ignore the fact that the Trump tax cuts certainly are not fiscally conservative and Trump's autocratic tendencies certainly are not political conservative or libertarian. And yet how many here at RF strut around claiming that they are "conservatives" and/or "libertarians"? Reminds me of the former t.v. show "Fantasy Island".

As for myself, I'm more of a pragmatist, but with "boundaries" if you know what I mean.

The video is unbiased. It is not a report of the debate. It is just the debate.

From the article.

"It sought to overthrow the Republicanstate governments in the South"

I suppose you think Republicans wanted to overthrow the Republican govt eh? No, as stated most KKK members were Democrats in the first 2 incarnations of the klan.

Its fact, you can try to deny it but you can't change history. Sure the Democratic party didn't all get together and establish the klan, but most members of the klan were Democrats especially when it was first formed.

Deal with it.
