You can't read chapter 4 without first reading chapter 3.I guess I needed to be a bit more clear...
Reread Abraham 4.
We pick and choose what we're willing to accept and choose to ignore the rest.
How can you read Abraham 4 without first reading Abraham 3, which gives an explanation of what "time" is and how God compares his reckoning of time, with ours.
Abraham 3: 4
And the Lord said unto me, by the Urim and Thummim, that Kolob was after the manner of the Lord, according to its times and seasons in the revolutions thereof; that one revolution was a day unto the Lord, after his manner of reckoning, it being one thousand years according to the time appointed unto that (EARTH) whereon thou (ABRAHAM) standest. This is the reckoning of the Lord’s time, according to the reckoning of Kolob.
I inserted (EARTH) and (ABRAHAM) for better clarification as to what this scripture is referring to.
Kolob is nearest to the planet where God dwells, and the time is the same, which is a ratio of 1 day (God's planet/time) to 1000 years (our planet/time).
This scripture reinforces this teaching.
2 Peter 3: 8
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
