The Emerging World Religion

Who wrote this then? ......

Psalm 82:6King James Version (KJV)
6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

I believe Jesus just said: ye are gods.

I don't see where it says, "ye are self-proclaimed false gods."

“I said, `You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High.' But you will die like mere men; you will fall like every other ruler.” This passage is saying that God has appointed men to positions of authority in which they are considered as gods among the people. They are to remember that, even though they are representing God in this world, they are mortal and must eventually give an account to God for how they used that authority. http://www.gotquestions.org/you-are-gods.html

Of course I'm a part of what you call "God" by being a "god." I am a creator, and not separate from anything I was formed from... I create lots of things, any human is inspired to create either "good" and/or "evil." My thoughts, my actions, my potential actions, my every inner and outer design effects my inner kingdom and the external kingdom(my environment) as one micro piece of roughly around 8 billion others.

I'd say mankind is creating "God" however they portray "God" to be rather than "God" becoming mankind so mankind can become "God."

Maybe you can give a demonstration of you Creator God ability by creating a new planet, a new color addition to the rainbow, or tell me by your omniscient power what I ate for breakfast this morning.

Let's test your indwelling. Hypothetically, let's say there is a place called heaven after physical death.

You meet 2 Jesus's, both look the same. You have to choose which one to go to. One is your true Savior and one is Satan.

The first says, come with me.. There are no homosexuals here, no atheists, no Mystics here, Buddhists, no Islamic's, as they have never accepted me as their savior.

The second says, come with me... There are homosexuals here, atheists here, there are Buddhists here, there are Islamic's here, there are Mystics here, everyone is of equality/just, free, of peace, all different/unique but one together.

Which Jesus are you choosing to enter with?
First, there is and ever will be only ONE Jesus, so I will not be faced with such a nonsensical choice when I get to heaven, Secondly, in heaven there will be many homosexuals, mystics, atheists, Buddhists, Islamic's and even adulterers, thieves, liars, etc, who have repented and turned to the Savior Jesus Christ for forgiveness and eternal life. God's offer through Christ is equally available to everyone.

Deifying self is hardly new. Satan has long sold godhood in some form to humanity, as religion, or as some deeper, mystical aspect of a particular religion. Where the leaven of mysticism is found it inevitably spreads to some form of union with God, meaning...belief in becoming God or merging with God. Mysticism is the key to a universal religion because it appeals to people on a broad scale. People of different religions must have a common factor and binding agent for a global religion and that is mystical, contemplative prayer. This unity of all faiths or interspirituality is the underlying herald cry and goal of the contemplative prayer movement and it is drawing people from all religious persuasions. Yet, while it entices many from “Christianity” it is something that can never be reconciled with the biblical message of the existence of One transcendent God, the Cross, and the claim of Jesus Christ as the only Savior.

I've never heard of this movement. Are you referring to the emerging church?

Uh-huh. No one becomes a God in the Germanic traditions. So how about reflecting a bit on what you've said and considering that maybe you're falling victim to the same mindless "apocalypse fever" that has befallen countless others over the past two thousand years?

Because so far, all of them have one thing in common. Y'know, being Wrong. Each time. Without fail.

Everyone is their own authority(ruler) in which they create. They have the power to do so because of the power that resides within them and the unique talents they possess. The same "spirit" of "life" resides within you as it does every other human being. Doesn't make a being more powerful than the universe, other than a living being with the ability to create. Everyone physically dies and everyone falls. Everyone is in subjection to the laws of the universe(God.)

So only people with positions of authority over others are "gods?" Making stuff up doesn't help. Everyone is their own authority and ruler. Why are you choosing who is a god and who isn't? I think you may have a difficult time realizing that a human being can be "a god" without being "God" but as a part of "God." I guess it may not make much sense to you by thinking exoteric/deity and not within.

You created this thread, doesn't mean you create planets and new colors even though you can "in mind." You ate for breakfast whatever YOU CREATED for breakfast.

I think the idea that we are separated from the Divine...nothing good, worthy, valuable, etc. unless we get in line to be assimilated...is more likely part of an evil plot.

Best way to keep people down is to have them do it themselves, all the while convinced that it's the right thing to do - regardless if human or supernatural entity is playing the dictator/tyrant.

I think we're seeing more cooperation and acceptance among the various religions... and I say that based on my experiences with my own participation for a number of years now in the local Inter-faith Council in my community... Also the Parliament of World Religions has been meeting regularly for several years the last being in Salt Lake City, Utah last month. So in my view people of faith are finding they have more in common and are learning more and more about each other.

You are coming from a dualist perspective (God and creation are two). I come from a non-dualist perspective (Goad and creation are not-two). Notice how it is called non-dualism instead of just calling it 'singleness'. That is because non-dualism is the next stage in theological evolution beyond dualism for many of us. Dualism is a predecessor stage of spiritual evolution to non-dualism.

Though if you are more comfortable with 'dualism' and Christianity then by all means I suggest to stick with it. I for one have problems with some of the conundrums produced by dualist thought and also the spiritual teachers I have come to most respect come from a non-dualist position. But please don't sound crazy in suggesting some Satan behind all this non-dualism.

To repent means to "go beyond the mind." Trying to mold/change everyone into what mankind wants someone to be is not the same as molding into what "God-the universe" wants someone to be.

If you went beyond the mind rather than using the mind to interpret a handbook literally, you may see all sorts of inner(spiritual) things you haven't before.

Your handbook also warns you repetitively not to form idols or images, in which you've done by deitizing a guy that is not a literal guy but rather is something IN all of literal mankind and goes by many different words. To some, it's the Christ, to others Kundalini, to some its life force, to some its Chi, etc.

It's made more about the messenger rather than the message. The name(character/nature), the way(way of inner being) the truth, and the life.
In "spirit" is within, not exoteric and not of the mind. The saving/liberating force is within someone.

Not really equally available by your views. Many grow up in "Christian-religious" homes with a relatively loving family and in a reasonable environment.
Many grow up in poop storms with hateful parents, and living their life with no "bible," nothing, and never hearing a word of a deity literal guy named "Jesus."

Would you say that's more because of "accepting" a literal exoteric deity that saves you, or more because of ones inner character/nature becoming more peaceable within and "accepting" all others by being more and more set free/liberated from everything that divides and conquers mankind by being a non-respector of certain persons?

I cant understand how god can be omnipotent and let satan roam freely on earth and create these false religions freely. Is this just some sort of comedy or something? is satan doing gods will?
Hi Danddolo,

Yes, God is omnipotent. If you believe in what the bible is saying starting from the Book of Genesis, you may see how does man fall into sin (in his free-will). In the book of Isaiah, Satan rebelled against God. There, you may connect those accounts how it started.

We cannot comprehend what God has in mind other than what was written in the Scripture about Satan's end.

Rev. 20:10
10. And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Thanks
