The Firmament that the Bible Describes is Real

Sgt. Pepper

All you need is love.
Careful! He will put you on ignore.

He is the first person that I have ever seen that could technically be reported for abusing the ignore function. He does not want to debate or discuss. He wants to preach.

Honest question: Can the staff be put on ignore? Not that I want to; I'm just curious about it.

Yes and no. One can put their everyday conversations on ignore, but they can easily override that for messages that you do not want to hear.

EDIT: You could always put a staff member on ignore for a few minutes if you find one actively responding to a person. Then take them back off. I am very sure that you will not see their posts while on ignore.

None of what you said disproves anything I said. Go vent somewhere else.

First, do you think it's wise to tell a staff member to bug off? Second, why do you post your flat-earth beliefs as if they are definitive facts? And third, if you're going to preach and proselytize your beliefs instead of debate them with those who disagree with you, then you should expect some criticism.

The staff members are supposed to have thick skins. if one is not breaking the rules it probably will not make any difference.

But I seriously do think that this poster may cause a change in how the ignore button can be used.

If one does not want to hear from people outside of one's group one should use the DIR's. Putting people on ignore just because they can refute you appears to be abuse.

I don't think you realize how many educated individuals are flat earthers, but this appears to be your first time encountering a flat earther so I am not surprised. When I first discovered the flat earth years ago I never would have guessed it. Only Two-Thirds Of American Millennials Believe The Earth Is Round.
So 1/3 of millennials aren't sure the earth is round, nor can find their own state on a map. Interesting.
I have a Bachelors degree in science by the way from Dixie State University - now known as Utah Tech University.

My take is that God created the 'firmament' to hold everything in place: "to divide the waters from the waters". I think of it as the 'laws of nature'.

firmament (n.)
mid-13c., from Old French firmament or directly from Latin firmamentum "firmament," literally "a support, a strengthening," from firmus "strong, steadfast, enduring" (from suffixed form of PIE root *dher- "to hold firmly, support" ).

The firmament is the sky and cosmos. Those definitely exist. The OP has simple defined them wrong
That is the current definition. But the writers of the Bible could have easily have agreed with Kyle. The writers of the Bible got tons of science very very wrong. So what? They had no way of knowing what we know today. That they made scientific errors just does not qualify dumping the Bible. Its moral failings is another issue altogether.

They didn't mean it like the OP, they wouldn't have agreed with him because he isn't using the term right. Saying the firmament is absolutely no different than how we look up and call what we see the heavens.

This is a question i asked last night, the answer i received was...

No, we can't be. Sort of would defeat the purpose.

They're also the ones who believe QAnon theory, and that Elvis and JFK are hanging out in a bar somewhere.

I spotted Elvis leaving a bar just the other day. He was on his way to a gig at a village night market.

Well he looked and dressed like Elvis.

Dang it I should have followed my own suggestion. I clicked on the icon of a mod and the "Ignore" option did not exist. I could clearly see it when I clicked on the icon of a regular member.

Yep, I was wrong:(
