Actually, in Acts, we are told that some of them are (we aren't told that any could read). But Peter and John, pillars of the church in Jerusalem, are said to be illiterate.

jesus spread his message to the poor, there were no modern churches and jesus preached outside of the normal hebrew script that got john killed. he wasnt in a church preaching

haha - I gather that he's trying to argue with a very, very crude Socratic method. In his arrogance, he thinks, I guess, that he understands everything and rebuilds a strawman.

But the irritating thing is that he doesn't bother to understand anything and therefore fails miserably at his aims.

One actually has to have at least two brain cells to rub together to do what he's attempting.
