I'm getting far more than I ever put into the system.

Banksters take your money, gamble with it and expect the government to bail them out when they lose their bets. They lend you money in the same sense that a drug dealer gives out free samples - to hook the addict on needing ever more and being in permanent hock.

I have a corporate defined benefit pension which I expect to get far more than I paid in.

I don't borrow money. Outside of buying our house, I never borrowed money.. I can thank my depression era father for that model. If I ran a business, that might be different but my wife and I both have the "if you don't have money, don't buy it" philosophy. I like the feeling of freedom we have for not owing money. It's a winning thing to do.
