When one's body does not cooperate...
Yup. I decided to forfeit all wins for the day as I thought a small but somewhat filling dinner would help me feel better. I don't feel quite as hungry, but over all I feel worse.
Really, I just do not understand why IBS isn't listed as a disabling condition. I can generally manage to drag myself out of bed when my depression is at its worst, I'll limp and lurch through knee pains, but IBS wipes me out from pain and fatigue. And then there are days when I feel fine, but my colon explodes gas out like a canon (though I'm usually bloated and hurting when that's going on).
Really, I just want a new everything from the stomach down (new rest of everything else would be nice, but the rest doesn't cause me pain like the stomach down). It's not all bad, but enough causes me so much pain I'd be perfectly happy with a robot lower-half.

My IBS is not nearly that bad but I've thought about FODMAP elimination diet to see if I can pinpoint what foods I need to quit. I might get there eventually.

The only foods that started giving me problems are milk, wine, and fatty/greasy foods. I can handle them in small amounts with no issue, but more than a small amount can cause a range of problems. Three years later and it still pains me to have to say I started feeling significantly better once I stopped drinking milk, eating cereal with milk, and having more than small servings of dairy products (I was often very sick for several weeks after I first got IBS). I still painfully miss chocolate milk.
It's worth it to see if it helps, but IBS is so "individual mileage and results may and will vary" it's hard to tell if it will help or not.

Yeah. The only thing is to try and see what happens.

My wife can't eat dairy of any kind. She REALLY misses cheese.

Kill me if I can never eat cheese. I can't pile it on by the shovel fulls onto pizza or pasta anymore, but I can at least still eat it. If I get to where I can't, I don't want to live anymore. And I may not live long as my tears might dehydrate my to the point of death.
