Nah, just another complaint to air, because if it's here now it is not the future. It is the present. Quit doing it. Like misusing literally and using acronyms without writing what it stands for the first time. About as much as I hate a singular use for they, which I really hate when it gets used for people that are he or she and it's definitely know.
Speaking precisely matters and erasure is never good.

Lots of critters used to be way bigger. Even wolves and cats.
I wouldn't be surprised if the bones of those large animals from whatever that was have fueled the stories of giants and dragons, because those are so common among all our ancestors that clearly they all saw something to produce these similar creatures (same goes for vampires).
