I was caught in a trap once. It didn't look anything like the picture, but it turns out was much more deadly.
It's not splitting hairs that concerns me in the situation. It is splitting hares that concerns me. In this case, splitting hairs over split hares is justified I think.
I have had that happen too. It is difficult to tell what is going to become popular and you can't save everything. I live knowing that dollars have slipped through my fingers because I wasn't far-seeing enough, but at the time, it wasn't so important.I used to have a heap of rabbit traps that I collected from various places as a young fella, I have no idea what happened to them, I probably gave them away or chucked them out. Now that jaw traps are illegal they're sold on Ebay as vintage collectables. Once again I've thrown out junk that has become valuable junk.
Did somebody say "rabbit"?

Yes, duck is very good. But I think he sees them almost as people. Last year some racoons broke into where the ducks sleep at night and killed a few of them. He was rather distraught. I will be happy with the occasional duck egg or two. That looks delicious, but I think it is chicken.
He should eat the ducks.
I think for some people, those 'farm' animals become pets. I can't say that wouldn't happen to me either. But at least with pet chickens, ducks and geese, you can still get eggs.Yes, duck is very good. But I think he sees them almost as people.
