ok....well...you can't have everything
Yeah for sure, submitted a claim to my insurance company yesterday who will go after her insurance company. It's the inconvenience of it that's most annoying, getting quotes then being without it for a few days while it's repaired. Fortunately I pay a little extra insurance and have the option of a free rental car while this happens. I'm surprisingly whip lashed from such a low speed shunt this morning.

I have some beef back ribs cooking right now. They were on sale cheap because they are pushing the prime rib for Christmas. When they do boneless ones the bones end up as back ribs. Very tasty bone on meat that is cooked low and slow and then a bit of barbecue sauce and a healthy shot of heat at the end.
I've never really understood the love of ribs. Sure they taste good and I appreciate the slow cooking method but they're a lot of work and mess for a small reward.

Some have more meat than others. And it seems that the tastiest meat is right on the bone. That is why I love pork ribs.
I found out today why insurance is getting so expensive, it's incompetence. I found a local panel beater who can come to my place and repair the car next week and he said it would be done in a day but they won't even look at his quote because he's not one of their recommended repairers. So they're sending me to a place that's an hours drive away, they can't fit me in until February and want the car for 3 weeks. I get a rental car on my policy so that means they have to provide a taxi to take me to the nearest Hertz which is at the airport and about an hour from the panel beaters. I have no idea what a taxi costs but I'm thinking it will be about $200. I explained the distances to her and she said google shows it's only 11km from you. I said correct but it's 11km of water, the road goes around the water. She didn't understand the concept.

But one of the reasons that insurance companies demand quotes is that if they insure a car it has to be safe. And unfortunately many cosmetic repairs no longer have working crumple zones and other features that keep a car safer if it is in another accident. Future safety is why it is so easy to total a car these days.
