All 3 of us have had a haircut in the last week, here's a summary of cost and time wasted.

Wife: $140, 3 hours (5 hours if you count the drive there and back)
Dog: $90, 40 minutes. (1 hour 20 minutes if you count the drive)
Me $0, 10 minutes including the walk to the laundry cupboard for the clippers and out to the back verandah.

Good dog. Chasing away that mean old bear.

Gregory Grant said his son Gavin was walking through their yard when he spotted a black bear just ahead of him.

The moment Gavin saw the bear he became frightened and started to run away.

The family’s dog, Jake, an 8-year-old golden retriever, came to the rescue and chased the bear away.

Gregory Grant said he was unsure if the bear was going to bother his son, but Jake made sure the bear would not have the opportunity, as he chased it all the way off the property.

Both Gavin and Jake were completely unharmed and Jake was later rewarded for his heroic act. His family received he got quite a few treats and ice cream.

“He got quite a few treats, he got ice cream, he got a bath that night. He got the whole nine yards… He helped us out that day for sure,” Gregory Grant said.

Winning way too early(or late, which is it?)

You tell me. I've been up since 5:30, done some housework (luckily the children are away so not much to do). Been into town for a lovely just baked, still warm pain aux raisins

and a super strong coffee. Then don't the weekly shopping. Done a little yard work, made lunch and at 12:15 pm in relaxing in the dappled shade of vines in the courtyard sipping a cup of jasmine flavoured green tea.

And I'm knackered but winning
