So I just got questioned by the cops for the crime of sitting in a park by the water with a camera.
someone called the cops on me once for knocking on the wrong door and jumping out of the way of the plate glass window that fell out as I knocked, missing me and smashing on the floor. Police deemed the guy as a nut, asked me if I would pay for the window, I said yes, they told me to leave, and told him to shut up.

That's quite an ordeal.

It didn't end there. I paid to get an estimate to replace the window, he agreed to it, I sent the money order, registered mail, the window was replaced and paid for, even got the receipt, and then he reported me to the police for not paying and wanted his money. The police called me, I told them I have his signed receipt receiving the money order, I have the reciept for the money order, I had a copy of the receipt from the install, and asked if they wanted me to bring them to them. They said no and followed that with, he's been a PIA to us since this happened...."now I think we will go have talk with him". I never heard another thing

oh and I forgot to add in the first post, after the police got there I told them what happened and after every sentence the owner of the window said "and that is when he threatened to kill me" (which I never said) He was off the wall and I was calm, probably why the police told me go leave.

Wow.

I bet you always check an address twice before knocking now...

That was about 40 years ago, I still try not to knock on any door I am not sure of. And I never stand in front of the door anymore.

It was a door like this and one entire pane fell out and almost hit me

However it was on the interior so I also had doors like this right behind me

That would have scared the mess out of me.

I'm not a bear, so I'm not as equipped to handle such things.

It just fell right off after knocking on it? Sounds like it was a pretty weak window.
